Take a look at the other laws passed by states where the Dr. will make a note if the patient "actually" looked at the ultrasound in their file. Awesome stuff, the state wants you to make sure by making you go through something that has ZERO medical purpose, GOP!
I agree. Mumia should be electrocuted and healthy fetuses should be left alone. |
"I know you were raped, but look at your rape baby before you abort it, would you like a Polaroid?"
The majority of women who have abortions have them in the 6th and 7th week of pregnancy. I'll go out on a limb and suggest rape victims don't wait 7 weeks to get an abortion. All rape victims who go to a hospital are given a morning after pill-- including rape victims who go to Catholic hospitals. Carry on with your hysterical propaganda. |
Gov. Robert F. McDonnell is backing off his unconditional support for a bill requiring women to have an ultrasound before an abortion, focusing new attention on one of the most controversial pieces of legislation in Virginia’s General Assembly this year. Until this weekend, McDonnell (R) and his aides had said the governor would sign the measure if it made it to his desk. McDonnell, who strongly opposes abortion, will no longer make that commitment.

"No person should be directed to undergo an invasive procedure by the state" - VA Gov. Daily Beast
Virginia’s state House passed a revised measure on its controversial ultrasound bill Wednesday, after Republican Gov. Bob McDonnell said he didn’t support a law that required an invasive procedure. The new law mandates an external ultrasound before abortion, but doesn’t require a transvaginal ultrasound. McDonnell had previously indicated his support for the more invasive legislation, but backed down on Wednesday. “No person should be directed to undergo an invasive procedure by the state, without their consent, as a precondition to another medical procedure,” McDonnell said in a statement.
|
