I also think that Goodell is all over this situation. I think he has been in contact with the Mannings and has spoken to their doctors. He does not want something to happen on the field to Manning. That would be unforgivable for the NFL and a PR nightmare that would take years to overcome, if ever.

I am sure that they will evaluate every pimple on his @ss to be a sure as they can be that he will hold up.

If I was Tannanbaum I'd be stalking Manning on Thursday morning early like maybe even 4 am. till the Colts make a decision, then give him the keys to our facilities at Florham park the rest should be history.

Manning should have been a Jet but Parcells fuged it up!
I know a lot about spinal fusions and nerve damage relative to the average fan.
You fail to mention the risk the other levels are at in the cervical spine. Anytime you are fused the upper and lower levels take on the burden of the fused level. Its very easy to blow out the surrounding levels under stress.

Nerve damage if there was any nerve impigment sometimes never recovers fully.

We can talk for hours about the issues. I don't feel like wearing out my finger tips.

BTW, you are right. There are many dangers. I am not going to pretend to be an expert. But I do have a little experience with the procedures. And if his doctors are going to say he is at no greater risk than I am going to concede to them. Obviously if they consult many Doctors, there will be some that disagree. But I would like to think that Peyton is going to make the right decision.

The Drs may rule against it and Peyton may decide to go AMA -against medical advice. Many who have this procedure are never fully allowed back to normal activities. Playing in the NFL is not a normal activity. Just sayin...
Arm strength doesn't seem to be an issue.

If Manning's health checks out we'd be stupid not to make a serious play for him.
Has this been confirmed. Is it really him?

I am going to look at some videos of his mechanics to see if they match.

My first impression is that Peyton always sprints to the mesh point, even when he is just practicing. Looked a little slow but obviously there are plenty of explanations for that.

I did see his "happy feet" though.
How many times has a hit forced him to miss a game? If he can throw like he normally can and we don't, at least, send out feelers we are morons. And I am a Sanchez apologist, I Defend the kid all the time, but Peyton Manning is an all time great.
when did I ever say manning is not an all time great. if manning is signed then you have to cut Sanchez far cap relief. 2nd if manning gets hurt and yes I do consider risky, your season is done . which may not be a bad thing. Sanchez is gone and you get a high draft pick.

I dont think Goodell would let that happen. I think Manning will have to be cleared. I think Goodell and the owners would even collude to prevent it from happening. The league could not afford for this to end badly and then have a leak that he went against doctors wishes. Everything will be on the up and up.

Goodell will do whatever he feels is best for the NFL its a business. I dont think there are any injury rules for anything but a concussion. Manning will find a Dr to clear him, watch and see.

Manning has bin cleared by Dr. to resume his rehab. So I don't think this is an issue.

No link, rehab is first step. Players have had the same prosedure and bin cleared to play in the past. If I recall Manning was in contact with a former Florida QB (forget his name) that had this procedure and continued playing.

+1000000000000000000000000000000000

Exactly. Then watch as Sanchez develops into an all pro with another team...just the Jets luck. This is a stupid idea.

Each spinal injury and operation is different. As is the person who had it. Everyone heals differently.

The NYJETS have alot of money invested in a young promising QB if he can return to 2009-2010 form. Manning will want more money than the NYJETS can afford. There are way too many other glaring needs on this team.

As for Manning to the Jets it is a no brainer the answer is NO!!!!!!!!!!!! to that. As to if Manning will continue his playing day's it is YES!!!!!!!!!!. Phins are being called a front runner and this would be phoolish for him unless he is more about money.
