Hey a graphic designer did a redesign of the NY Jets uniforms for his own amusement. I think they look pretty awesome, click here for the rest of the design: http://imgur.com/a/wxyG7 Here's a link to the original thread, including links to other team redesigns: http://www.reddit.com/r/nfl/comments/qmxhp/bonerparts_does_the_nfl_part_6_the_new_york_jets/
They look like Pee Wee Football uniforms. |
The uniform design isn't that bad, but the helmet logo/primary logo stinks.
The sad thing for the artist is that the Jets ensemble is the best one he did. I didn't think it was possible, but he made the Seahawks uniforms uglier than they already are.
Holy hell |

I will tell you this much: we are living in an era of over-design. Why?
1.) It's so damn easy to do. Everyone has a computer, every kid has Illustrator and Photoshop. So they go in, hack away, and over-design the crap out of everything, often without much thought. 2.) It's cheaper and faster. Years ago, with typesetting, and color printing processes the way they were, a lot more time, money, and hence, thought went into design. I think the Jets uniforms reflect an educated, talented person's approach to design. And that's why I think they shouldn't be changed. Add to the fact that consistency over long periods of time adds to the allure of the identity. Yankee pinstripes anyone? Not to discourage that student. Some of his/her designs are interesting. Just not needed! DC |

Going from Jet to Jet fighter would be cool, but still doesn't seem right.

Good effort reddit.com, better than some others like the Nike one that looks like it's for a soccer player, or cyclist.

I actually was sincere with my original post. I liked the uniforms. But after "cant wait" mentioned that the logo looks like clip art, I can't unsee it. Still I think they are better than most attempts by quite a bit.
