much better pick than Ingram IMO
save your slobbering.. we all know that no matter who the Jets would've picked you'd be wearing your cheerleading skirt right about now. Drafting a DE with so many other holes on this team is a reason for concern.. especially drafting a DE who so many think is either boom or bust |

At least if we took DeCastro he could have helped protect Sanchez from Ingram when the Chargers come to NY
Coples three weeks ago was a top 7 pick. He has mega-upside. Rex & Tanny arent stupid.
Exactly, I have to defer to Rex who is a defensive mastermind, he chose coples over a bunch of guys. I bet he is right |

the more I see and read about Coples, it is pretty clear that he was the best available pass rusher available at 16. Can you imagine the uproar from the SOJFs if the Jets had taken Irwin taken by Seattle with all his character issues.
In fact, we all know that no matter who the Jets chose, the same old group of same old Jet fans would have been screaming the same bloody murder as they are about Coples or worse |
the guy is lazy he has no motor. he disapears for long periods does that sound familar. Vernon Gholston and 284 is too small for a DE in the 3-4 he is a going to be more of a hybrid OLB/DE Melvin ingram is a pure beast. we drafted another Gholston.
A 284, Quentin Coples ran the same 40 time as Melvin Ingram did at 264. That's the thing people aren't getting here, this is a physical freak. There hasn't been a guy that big who ran that fast since Mario Williams. |

Well.......I have to imagine that Rex and company did their homework. Rex worked him out personally and put him through LB drills at the work out. After my initial displeasure, the more you think about it I guess it makes sense. Lets hope he makes an impact.

big difference between coples and gholston. coples is a talented football player. gholston was not. coples was on a football team whose coach got canned, nearly got the death penalty and several of his former dline teammates got in trouble. he knew his senior year was all messed up, so he just tried to not mess up his draft stock. rex can get this guy motivated.
