this

except the number of teams (in every draft) is not 30 but 32
You might want to note that there were teams last night who DIDN'T draft in the first round like the Saints and NO, which are just 2 off the top of my head. There could be one or two more.

Once again you shoot from the hip, SG.....and MISS. Nice try though.
So, you're saying when things happen that are outside of his control, he quits.

Great.
Quits? Who said he quit? How can you say he quit when he played much better the last 7 games of the season then he did the first 5 games? Stop listening to beat reporters, they don't know ****!

You gotta be optimistic.

I was furious when we made the pick (I was praying Ingram or Floyd would be there when we picked, didn't think either would be and.... Well, the rest is history) but you have to look at the bright side.

This guy is a beast, and has the potential to be the next Julius Peppers. Let's all hope he's not the next Gholston.
he had 7.5 sacks. ingram had 10. How come when Ingram plays with 100 percent intensity he is only slightly better than Coples "doggin it"? Isn't that a little disconcerting?

PLenty of great players struggle learning new systems and its not always because they lack heart.
I will give the jets 200% intensity and effort if they sign me. I'll take the league minimum.

full disclosure: I had zero sacks last year.
The pats have a million picks every year, its a non-factor IMO. There is just too much turnover on their roster for me to worry about them collecting talent through the draft. If they replace a 2010 2nd rounder with a 2012 2nd rounder, then IMO there is no net gain. It is still the same team of young potential talent.

They are a 12 win team regardless of their draft picks, and that's a combination of Belicheck and Brady.
they only have 2 more picks this year. I would find that concerning. So far, the local media and fans here agrees...another brilliant draft so far.

I'm sure the national media is not far behind.
yea , and 4 of those sacks were combined against the football powerhouses James Madison U. and Duke
I wanted Ingram ahead of Coples too, but if you look at the last few pages of defensive game stats here, Ingram had big games against Auburn, Florida and Vandy and a lot of games where he disappeared as well:

What do you mean "another" brilliant draft? When in the last decade have the Pats ever had a "brilliant" draft? And reaching for Chandler Jones in round 1 and, incredibly, trading up for the reach is about as far from brilliant as it gets. Huge reach. But of course Mayock says he will get bigger and within 2 years eventually be a beast. LOL. Chandler Jones: The mother of all reaches.

lol. didn't see this posted. another positive to consider. from what i've seen of coples tells me that even if he doesn't become an elite player he is for sure no vernon gholston.

The knock on Jones is that he's still a bit raw and will need to add some weight to his 6-foot-5 265-pound frame, but some talent evaluators believe that he has the ability to one day be considered the best player to come out of the 2012 draft. No reach at all.

His stock had been rising just before the draft. I've seen him mocked as high as 12. And it's not only Mayock who's high on this guy, ex-personnel exec Michael Lombari agreed with him, adding, "I think what Mike Mayock said is right. He is the best defensive player in the draft.""
