Junior Seau dead?

Cops in Oceanside, CA are investigating a possible shooting involving former NFL star Junior Seau ... law enforcement sources tell TMZ.

We spoke with an investigator in the coroner's office .. who told us they got a call to respond to the scene ... though the details surrounding the situation are still unclear.

Cops are currently at a residence where 43-year-old Junior is believed to be staying.

People in law enforcement are telling us Junior Seau is dead ... but we are unable to confirm that right now.

whoaaa, I thought it was gonna be a heart attack or stroke, but shot? Very interested to see if it was personal or a robbery gone wrong. Or an angry football fan? Suicide?

He tried to commit suicide a couple years ago by driving off a cliff, no? Looks like he succeeded. :(

Alot of NFL and sports figures cannot handle being out of the limelight. Sad tragic ending to a brilliant NFL career if its in fact true. RIP

The first thing you wonder after hearing this is did he have a concussion history after recent events.

His last year in the NFL was 2009 if he had a concussion history at that age I doubt if he would have been cleared to play..

You're probably right but you just wonder if these guys keep it quiet, I can't imagine an NFL LB not having at least one concussion in his career.
