Jets' Mike Westhoff expected to be out until training camp after leg surgery

Jets special teams coordinator Mike Westhoff is expected to be out until training camp after leg surgery, according to the team.

Westhoff was absent from today's OTA session, which was open to the media. He was visiting his son in Indianapolis earlier this month when he heard a sound in his left leg. Westhoff previously had a titanium rod inserted into that leg after his battle with bone cancer, and he needed surgery May 18 to repair part of that apparatus.

Westhoff returned to New Jersey earlier this week and is recovering, but will be back in time for the start of training camp July 25. Assistant special teams coordinator Ben Kotwica will handle Westhoff's duties in his absence.
