I'd much rather see the Jets spend any extra money they have on shoring up the OL. |

The Jets must feel REALLY confident that Sparano could turn around Hunter. They just won't address the area in any capacity.

Well he did say that he wanted Hunter when he coached in Miami. He must see something there. And don't say in any capacity. They did draft a guy who could play in multiple positions on the OL |

Although I would have loved for the Jets to upgrade Hunter over the offseason, I have come to accept the fact that this will not be happening. But what you said is incorrect, the Jets probably don't think Sparano will be able to "turn around" Hunter, he will just have extra help in the form of a blocking TE next to him on every passing play. They will not trust him to block anyone 1 on 1 and will take one route out of our passing schemes in order to accomplish this. |

A sixth-rounder who's projected to be a major work-in-progress is hardly addressing the need. |

Even if you love Hunter...
WHAT ABOUT DEPTH???? We've been lucky w/ few injuries in recent years, Can we be confident this continues? We seem to be betting the season it will. Is this wise? Probably not :( |

This guy was a beast a couple of years ago, and when Favre was in Minnesota.
I've always thought the Jets will go after a vet TE that can be a receiver and solid on the LOS, I actually thought they would opt for a blocking TE with Cumberland on the roster. If healthy, I would hope to think Cumberland is ready to emerge as a player, hopefully, the injury hasn't taken anything away from that ability. |
