He is very talented but injury prone. he has bad knees and had to be tended to in the very first mini-camp. I think we need a more durable player at TE.
Yeah his knees are a huge issue. That may be the end all for him if he can't stay healthy. |
That's ridiculous, Conner's proven himself as a good blocker. Not saying it makes sense to use him as a TE, but he's more than adequate as an FB.
You realize I was talking about blocking in the backfield as in pass protection? If you think he's proven himself in that capacity, I disagree. |
Yup, he's not like the rest of the pass catching FBs that are commonly found on NFL rosters.
Please go look at the better FBs that have played the position. They have all had an added pass catching element to their game. Conner gives zero versatility and has not even proved to be an effective blocker. He offers nothing. |

Where has Conner shown that he is more than adequate as a FB? Do not be surprised if training camp body Fui Vakapuna out plays him this camp. |

The "fullback" position is on its way to becoming obsolete.
And guys like Conner who have limited blocking abilities, limited to no pass catching abilities, no real rushing game and not an effective special teamer, will be on the outside looking in. Josh Baker is not a running back and won't provide rushing yards from the LOS, but he can catch the ball (from the TE position or out of the backfield), can block and is a very good special teamer. He has 4 inches on Conner who would be ineffective from the TE position. If it came down to the two, I know who I would go with on my roster. |
