It's a great day to be a 42 year old mouth-breathing finger sniffer! I'm very excited and can't wait to force my child to be a Yanks and Jets fan!
42 is not that old. A lot of people have kids later in life these days. 42 is the new 22. unless you are a woman.

When I was 23 and had a kid, I had all the energy in the world to raise him. Unfortunately none of the money which required me to work two jobs which ultimately helped me decide to go back and finish college.

I had my second at 42 and was financially secure but definitely with less energy than I had at 23. But he keeps me young and actually made me more active and keeps me in better shape.

It's definitely been a lot of work but so worth it.

Enjoy it.

Thank you guys for all the well wishes, I really appreciate it. It's our first and we're beyond excited. Told the in laws a few days ago, telling my sis in law today.

Emerson (new cat-guy) isn't going anywhere. I'll put a dome on the crib if I have to, lol.

And yes, it did occur to me that I'll be 60 at the kid's graduation. Unless the kid graduates early like my wife did at 16. :D

Are your other cats names Lake & Palmer? ;)

Congrats, we had our first late (hell I thought 34 was old to be having a kid) so I cant imagine doing it now - but it sounds like you guys are ready.

Also if you want more than one, I suggest 'striking while the iron is hot' not long after this one - have two kids is a major pain in the ass the first few years, it helps for them to have someone to play with when they are older. Trust me on this one.

No, but I do have a cat named Joe Willie. Just need a "Matt", or a "Snell" and I'll have the SB3 backfield!

That's the plan, go right back to work and create that built in baby-sitter. :D
I mean hey, I don't wanna be pulling a Tony Randall here.

Congrats, bac - having kids might be the best thing you'll do in your life. So far, it has been for me.

And no need to get rid of your cat(s). That's an old wives tale.
