How far can humans go?
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-2159359/Humanity-escapes-solar-Voyager-1-signals-reached-edge-interstellar-space.html
The map is crazy to think about in proportions. Last edited by NYJCAP2; 06-18-2012 at 03:57 PM. |

Tuscaloosa.
Thats as far as humans can go. (In more seriousness, I was at an Astronomy thing this weekend, looking at Stars and Planets, saw a few sateelites go overhead (a first for me), and was pondering very much the same thing, how far, and how soon, can we go...can we get off this rock.) |

Amazing but that is not even that far. In terms of the size of the universe this is equivalent to walking a few steps.
Always wanted to be an Astronaut, but then I hit a growth spurt. I heard you have to be under 6'. |

You guys are buying this?
The only Saturn that thing passed was right next to the Chevy pickup on its forklift ride in the junkyard. Its hard get some of you to even consider God, but a movie popcorn machine leaving the solar system is Gospel. Bunch of Europeans the lot of you. |

I'd rather we spend billions on exploring the ocean floor than the outer reaches of the galaxy.

Voyager 1 was launched in 1977. In the past 35 years, it has traveled 11,100,000,000 miles in that time.
At that time, it had been just 8 years since the Jets won Super Bowl III in January of 1969. In the next 8 years, Voyager will travel approximately 2 billion miles. So just to put this in perspective, the Jets are about 13.3 Billion Voyager miles removed from their last Super Bowl victory.
