Smartest Thing I've Done in a While

Deleted all of my "Politics Talk" and "News and Politics Talk" Radio Stations on Sirius/XM, and replaced them with Easy Listening, Jazz, New Age, Symphony and Comedy stations instead.

Sadly, still no Prog Rock Station.

I would trade that symphony station for Hair Nation, and a station to be named later.

Good call....now if you could just stay out of the Politics Forum and stick to talking Football, chicks and Dogs mashing walls, you'll have total conciousness.

Which is nice.

And maybe I can go back to beign a half-way decent poster at JI, who knows.

[/QUOTE]I used to have SIRIUS with D-TV. I remember those channels; Lithium is the Nirvana channel, yes?

There was a poster named Carl Spackler; oddly enough his avatar was Michael Chiklis.

That always bugged me. :D

That's not fair to you; you seemed to have all that emo-poli-BS under control, (iffin my opinion means poopy-doo). Congrats on turning off those channels; I no longer listen to talk radio, since the JI petting zoo is smarter than any talking head anywhere. :P

Good friend of mine did something quite similar years ago. Stopped listening/watching/reading the news. Decided to try to enjoy the far better things in life. He's much happier now.

The wife and I used to be huge poli-TV watchers, I remember vividly sitting in front of the TV as the chads were counted, the whole Clinton thing, all of that crap. Used to really get nutz about all of that stuff.

After my wife passed away in 2004, I became basically apolitical. Never again turned on FOX News or Hannity or CNBC or any of those shows. Haven't watched the "News" in years, haven't watched a political debate since 2004, when I pick up the paper it's for (i) sports and (ii) leisure (and just for the comics, movies, books, entertainment and food--none of the personal story-puff pieces).

I still have no idea what the deal is with hoodie sweatshirts, some of the biggest news stories I have intentionally turned a blind eye to. Not all of them, but a lot of the white noise I've just filtered out.

But all the political stuff is just the worst. Not worth getting agitated over.

I am speaking solely of inner-peace - your status in the pantheon of quality JI posters is inarguable.
