Saints and Patriots organize a joint practice

After casting a wide net looking for a joint practice, the Saints and Patriots have worked out a deal.

The Saints announced Tuesday they would go straight from the Hall of Fame Game against the Cardinals on August 5 to Foxborough, Mass., where they’ll work out with the Patriots for two days (August 7-8) before they play in a preseason game on August 9.

The Saints and Patriots practiced together in 2010 also. The Saints had asked around earlier this offseason, inquiring with four or five teams about finding a dance partner before reaching the deal with New England.

Players and coaches always love the workouts, as they give players a little extra incentive at a time in camp when they begin to get tired of looking at each other.
I guess the two teams would feel more comfortable working with another team that wouldn't likely divulge any liberties they might take with the rules. I mean, why else travel half the country to have a scrimmage? Gotta be able to trust the cheaters who you practice with.

Why don't they make the owner stay out for some time they penalize everyone else and he is the head?

Nobody wants to practice with tainted teams. They had no choice but to get with each other.

I can't hate on this idea. You can never go wrong with practice. NE's defense will have practice against a great offense being led by Drew Brees. A chance to switch it up from Tom Brady. It would be pretty nice if the Jets could practice with a team such as the Packers for two days.

The pats are going to scrimage against the bucs in Tampa also. This is the first year that they are doing two, I think more teams will be doing it to make up for the less contact in camp and the TC rosters being increased to 90.

Well, the Saints aren't tainted.

They may have tried to hurt players, but they never cheated. I think it's sick what they tried to do, but trying to rip someone's head off on the football field has never been considered cheating. Knowing the opposing teams plays on the other hand, due to a camera man; now that's cheating. What the Saints did was wrong, but who have the Saints hurt over the years? Warner and Favre come to mind, but both were legit/by the book tackles against Warner and Favre. They weren't dirty at all. Vince Wilfork goes for the knees all the time, dirty player, but doesn't mean he's a cheater. The Saints may of had a bounty out, but that bounty never injured players. Dick Butkus and those Chicago Bears defenses attempted to hurt offensive players each and every Sunday. It's a violent sport.

I think trying to hurt players is cheating. Maybe that's why they did it, and were punished for it.

Isn't it obvious?

Two teams sharing secrets about how to get the upper hand on the opponent?

Nothing to see here folks.

Both the Pats and Saints have nearly 5 x the odds to win the SuperBowl than the Jets. Go talk about your defense, teams with legitimate Super Bowl aspirations will be busy talking and practicing.

Good baptism of fire for a shaky and retooled Patriot Defense.

3 practices against real opponents and 4 preseason games is very good experience for everyone involved.

How many Super Bowl titles do the Saints and Pats have over the last 10 years?

How many Super Bowl titles do the Jets have in the last 43 years?

The correct answer is friggn' ZERO.
