Been deaf for 3 days b*****es!

I've had virtually no hearing in my left ear for 25 years (headphones, concerts, a misspent youff)...Monday woke up with a horrible infection in my "good" ear that inflamed and shut the ear canal, leaving me a deafy. Fortunately I have no plans to fly in the near future.

So does anyone know sign language? Thanks

I heard there is a great doctor in Louisville, KY that does great work. You should consider flying there to see him.

Just stick your M&Ms individually up your ass and repackage them before going thru security.

Please capture the ensuing hijinx on video.

Stop poking things around in your ear.

And I hope you feel better soon.

Seriously. What's the axiom? Nothing smaller than your elbow?

Or Stokes.

Jiminy Cricket says "Never put any thing in your ear except your elbow"

I'm sure Stokes is much larger then Jimny.

Now I know why they steal candy and mock the "weak". That deafening noise is not an aircraft; it's the sound of Mr. Blue Gloves' self-esteem imploding.

Wrong. Very bad advice. Harmful advice, actually. Very irresponsible post considering the malleable doofuses that congregate here.

I was trying to be nice by referring to them as malleable doofuses. Then you had to go all "stupid" on them.

LOL

btw, I always use q-tips to clean my ears. I know the box says not to, but seriously, what else is perfectly shaped like that, and what else are q-tips "supposed" to be used for?

Ha ha....you idiot.

Anyway.

Saw the Kinks with Johnny COugar opening in 1980 at the Nassau Coliseum.

Cept I was 17 and forgot to tell my parents I was going and had 6th row seats.

Also, I had been pretending to "not hear" my mother, rip, who was royally raving nuts, whenst she spoke upon me.

ALot of "hah?" and waving of hands.

That sort of thing.

Anyhoo, unbenownst to me, momma had scheduled a hearing test with an audiologist at LIJ HMO for me for the very next day, which, due to the insane volume the Kinks played at those days, I thusly failed with flying colors. My ears were still ringing from the night before. I dint tell Mama I was at a concert, remember.

Momma cried.

Then, I had to tell her the truth, the ignoring her, the concert, the whole thing, to make her happy again, which I did.

She was as pleased.... as a mental patient could be.

Miss you Mama.

Then, during post 9/11 testing I was told I'm pretty deaf in both Ears for real, which my wife and kids knew for years and were pretty ****** tired of.

Oh the iron.

True story.

I worked with a guy who was deaf in one ear due to something that happened as a kid (not sure what, infection or a poke or something but it led to a buildup of scar tissue that left him hearing out of just one ear). Many years later and we're working together and just like you he gets a bad infection in his good ear leaving him deaf. (They finally fixed it, had to put in temporary tubes or something to drain the infection.) But the cool part was that when he saw the doctor about his infection and told him how and why he was deaf in his other ear the doctor said oh we can fix that these days. It turned out to be (what is now) a very simple procedure. And for gravy, because his deaf ear hadn't been subject to abuse all those years he became a 40 year old guy with an eight year old's hearing.

Funny you should mention that, because the specialist I saw today scheduled me to come in on Monday to look over my "bad" ear...basically said the same thing. I've definitely missed a lot over the past 25 years being half deaf...basically, anytime there's background noise, you really can't hear anyone talking to you on your "bad" side. I got tired of asking people to repeat themselves or turning myself to hear them, so I just nod like "yeah, mm-hmm". People could be like "I've hated you my whole life, but I want you to impregnate my donkey" and I'm smiling and nodding like "yeah, definitely."

I lead an interesting life.
