I think using this scale, Sanchez' performance would be called "apocalyptic". |

There are allot of if's and's and but's to beat the Pats twice in one season.
But it is still wonderful to hope! |

The idea that Tom Brady is playing at a level significantly below his career peak is simply wishful thinking. He hasn't slipped... Yet.
If we want to get on threads and make assertions of this kind just to tweak the tails of our resident Patsie Trolls then I am all for it (Brady SUCKS!!!), but we're all just kidding on that one, right?. Anyhow, if you can manage to get pressure on Tom Brady then the level of his play comes down to something that is manageable. Put him on his a$$ and he is human. That is true today and it has always been true. Nothing new here. Plus, when we sweep them this year I want us to have beaten the Pats with their best player, still in his prime and not just because we played against someone who is a shell of his former self. |

Pats need as much luck as any other team.
Tuck Rule isn't LUCK. It's a rule. 6th round draft pick. 31 other teams passed on Brady 5 or 6 times. Pats recently lost 2 SB's on bad luck so they aren't THAT lucky. Jets must have broken 6 mirrors for their luck to be what it is.

Kudos for the 6th round flyer panning out but really if you had any idea whatsoever you are not relying on those other teams to pass on him 5 or 6 times. The Pats were EXTRAORDINARILY lucky on the Brady pick. It is probably the biggest single stroke of luck in the history of the NFL. |

![]() Edited to add that we crushed the Bengals first team a week later so I doubt there is any merit to the idea that they eased up on us and let us into the playoffs. Plus you know the old saying "it doesn't matter how you got there" once you are there. This is true of course unless the way that you got there involves cheating as it has with the Patriots. In that case it does indeed count how you got there even if a friendly commissioner hands down a cream-puff punishment. Last edited by EM31; 07-24-2012 at 12:40 PM. |

You have a point. But one can argue that any "break" or "good luck" the Jets get serves only to make the inevitable heartbreak even worse.

They also realized the other 31 teams would continue to pass on Brady (because they aren't as smart as the Pats). BB and the Pats did not want to select Brady before the 6th round so they could save money on his rookie contract. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that the Pats had a great drafting strategy in place when it came to Brady. |

But I'll never understand these people who say that Spygate never gave the Pats any kind of advantage. I saw the one segment they showed from the tapes. Filming signals and formations then panning up to the scoreboard for down and distance. If the Pats weren't gaining an advantage, then why the hell were they doing it in the first place? For sh*ts and giggles? Why would they risk massive fines and loss of draft picks over something that wasn't helping them whatsoever? That makes zero sense. |

And don't forget that they didn't want to upset Bledsoe, so waiting until the 6th made perfect sense. Most brilliant move of all-time. |

Having Drew Bledsoe as starter on the roster also might have weighed just a tad on their selecting a QB that late in the draft.
