Yes. A natural occurrence that last happened in 1100 AD.
If they had said this is climate change related you would have jumped all over them for not performing their due diligence. Again: Quote:

Why is it that while no one knows what's really going on with global warming, i mean, climate change - yet the left claims to know exactly how to fix it?
20 years these assclowns were telling us NY/Miami, etc. would be under water by 2010. These hysterical environmental stances of the left are enough to discount basically everything they say as total b.s. http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/news/ja...ng-yeah-right/ |

All global warming/cooling is cyclical, depending more on solar activity than man. But you keep your head in the sand...after all, 15 years ago liberals claimed our coastal cities would be under water by now.... Al Gore might have to put his mansions on pylons...

This is the problem IMO, the same old two "sides" have, as usual, taken the "all or nothing" route of presupposition on this issue, when the truth is probably somewhere in the middle. Much of it IS probably cyclical and related to factors as yet not thoroughly understood by science. And some of it (at the least) probably IS being influenced in one direction or the other by the activity, and pollution, of modern man. But instead of agreement, and saying "****, lets research the **** outa this and get some answers" the two "sides" have encamped in all-or-nothing land, declared it a decided issue, and never the twain shall meet again. It's so represenative of whats wrong in America today IMO. You do understand how small a timeframe 1100 AD to 2012 AD is in terms of planetary history, I hope. And you do understand the limitations of our known data set for periods of time even in the recent past, including 1100 AD, where the data is mostly unknown, limited and the like. A 900 year cycle is nothing over a 5,000,000,000 year old planet. And it's hard to even know it's a cycle when we have only such limited data to work with for times before now. There is alot of projection and theory involved to reach even a modest theoretical conclusion. Certainly not enough to make bold declaratives. Last edited by Warfish; 07-30-2012 at 04:54 PM. |
