JETS waive S Wilson

http://www.thejetsblog.com/2012/08/0...wilson-waived/

Tracy Wilson was waived. Either they really like Bush/Allen or their thinking they need to bring back Jimmy Leonhard. Thoughts?

6 safety's are a lot to carry my guess is it was to make room for another RT

I think they had the roster room before waiving Wilson. I think the roster is now at 86.

Safety is a pretty crowded position for the Jets....my guess is the rookies look good enough and perhaps Landry looks healthy enough that Wilson became expendable. Letting him go this early in camp gives him a chance to catch on and stick somewhere else. Best of luck to him

Also guys like D'Anton Lynn and Ryan Steed could be CB/S tweeters, so a lot of young depth when added to the drafted rookies.

Wilson was on the practice squad for a whole year. For the team to let
him go less than a week into camp means they like the development of
the young safeties Bush and Allen

I think they didn't like Tracy Wilson. How they feel about Bush/Allen or Leonhard is largely immaterial at this point. They didn't think Wilson was going to even approach making the roster, so they got rid of him.

I don't think 2 rookie safties' peformances in 3 days of camp will cause a team to think another player is expendable when he previously may not have been.
