Ok, that happens all the time. If a DE tries to run around the OT you have to ride them out, the QB then steps into the pocket. Problem was that Hunter was spun around and JPP had a easy sack. He shouldn't have gotten beaten that badly inside.

Brick had a bad year. It happens. The difference is he can bounce back. Hunter is a lost cause

That is not a bad play by Ferguson at all. The QB had to step up, yes, but there is nothing wrong with stepping up in the pocket. Brick maintained the pocket by pushing the speed rush past the QB, whereas Hunter collasped the pocket by getting beat right through his chest. Even if the part with Ferguson didn't happen, the pocket still would have collapsed because of Hunter. If only Ferguson portion happens, Sanchez steps up into a clean pocket and has the time to get off the throw.

This. Brick could perhaps have given him an extra push before he got near to Sanchez, but he did exactly what he was supposed to.

Osi speed rushes the corner, Brick rides him to the outside, Sanchez sees it coming and does exactly what he needs to, which is to step up and get ready to throw. Had everything else gone the way it should, he'd have a pocket right there to throw, Osi is way beyond Sanchez and out of the play, and hopefully good things happen.

The problem is that as soon as Sanchez steps forward, from the opposite direction (and thus the side he isn't looking at as he steps away from Osi) he gets crushed because Hunter let JPP inside of him because he gets completely off balance and turned around by JPP's push, something Brick doesn't have happen. It would have been fine if Hunter kept JPP outside too, but, well, he stinks...

I would like to see Brick provide more resistance on that play. IMO Osi got passed him too easy. I don't think Brick slowed him down nearly as much as he could have or should have. Osi still had a pretty much straight line to Sanchez which narrowed the pocket and that should never happen.

I understand QBs have to sometimes step up in the pocket and what Hunter did was worse b.c JPP got inside of him. And no matter what Brick did, Sanchez was likely still going to get sacked on that play b.c of Hunter.

I'm sorry but I just don't remember so many one-on one failures by him. Did his man ever get to the QB? Yes, of course they did but would there be many of those sacks that were one on one instant beats of Ferguson? I don't think so.

This guy gets it ... The amount of bs assessments of Brick's play is staggering. He did exactly what he was taught to do on that play. Direct the rush past the QB and out of play.

He's Been over rated and over paid from day one. Why would you draft an undersized one dimensions left tackle? He has NW er been able to run block and now he can't pass block. What a f()cling waste of player. He Only got to start the pro bowl due to Jake long not wanting play.

Brick did a textbook job of blocking on that play. There's nothing else Brick needs to do, Osi took a speed route and Brick took care of it.

Also it's possible Mark could have gotten rid of it. In general Sanchez needs to make quicker decisions. Tebow too. These guys are lounging back there.

What? That's simply not true. Hunter was constantly beaten, constantly gave up pressures, hurries, hits, etc. Brick gave up a sack here and there, but he wasn't getting the QB pummeled every play. To say he was as bad as Hunter is just nuts.

The poster's play and sack of QB is completely the fault of RT on this play. MS and Brick did their jobs. Brick continues to be a solid LT. Hunter flay out sucks

Faneca and Woody made Brick and Hunter look better. Hunter was actually ok
in the stretch run and playoffs a couple of years ago, with only a bad game or two

Brick has always been overrated. Great against mediocre defenses - horrible against solid ones.

Dwight Freeney says hello. D'Brick literally owned him when we played the Colts. D'Brick plays the elite pass rushers in the league nearly every game.

Ask them if they think he's overated.
