Also of note the Jets were 22nd in the league in QB hits in 2011 with 70.

Some perspective is in order here.
In 2011, Jets and 49ers finished 25th and 26th in total offense, and 5th and 4th in total defense, respectively. The Jets went home 8-8 and the Niners won their division in November and made it to the NFCCG. There's a reason they actually play the games. |

Stats often lie. The fact remains that in key games and in key moments last year, the Jets defense did not play like a top 5. I am expecting improvement this year but there is on doubt in my mind that they will burn out over the course of the season because all the pressure will be on them. The offense will do nothing to give them a break.

Wait... so they didn't do this his ROOKIE season?? No the OL has fallen off since we subbed out an elite RT (Woody) with one of the worst in the league (Hunter). Sanchez has been decidedly mediocre, but those who are trying to absolve the OL of all blame are as bad as the people who claim that Sanchez is god's gift already.
