Wasn't it Powell who blew the block and allowed Sanchez to get sacked?

If you remember, McKnight was suffering from shin splints during the week.
You think that might have been a factor? I do. |

The guards were brutal in the run game yesterday. But Greene has to shoulder some of the blame as well.
We need more Vlad Ducasse, and we need more Bilal Powell. |

I was quite suprised tbh.
It seems to be a Jets thing that we just run one guy, over and over, and often to the same spot. I keep waiting to see us run Greene one play. McKnight the next, to a totally different spot. Then Powell in the backfield on 3rd down to block, catch, delayed handoff. I have to assume it's a pre-season thing for Sporana, because the "run Green, run Greene again, Pass, Punt" O is a recipie for not much. I think come regular season, we'll see more McKnight, more Tebow (as RB/Wildcat), and more of a mix. |

the guy practiced and ran kick returns, which is the most dangerous play in the game. I find it hard to believe he would get zero carries based on that.

Vlad has been a pleasent surprise this pre-season. I really doubted he was going to make it but I think he will.

I watched the Sanchez sack in slo-mo instant replay a few times.
There was a stunt between Ferguson and Slauson's men. Ferguson recognized it and was trying to pass his guy off to Slauson - but Slauson didn't notice the stunt and had left his spot to help in the middle. At which point Ferguson stuck with the inside guy, which was probably correct, and drove him across. But the stunting guy had a clear shot at Sanchez. IOW, this was caused by Slauson's mental mistake (and coupled with Sanchez possibly holding the ball too long). From what I saw in general, I think Powell did a very good job blocking. |
