2009 NY JETS

I keep hearing how the Jets & Tanny haven't done anything for the offense, well you can't fix EVERYTHING instantly.
There are reasons why guys like Edwards & Plaxico had no takers for so long.
Here are the receivers & TEs the Jets had in 2009, Marks 1st year.
Wide Receivers
87 David Clowney
89 Jerricho Cotchery
17 Britt Davis
14 Marcus Henry
2 Paul Raymond
16 Brad Smith
83 Chansi Stuckey
7 Mario Urrutia
18 Huey Whittaker
15 Wallace Wright
Tight Ends
84 Kareem Brown
48 J'Nathan Bullock
81 Dustin Keller
45 Richard Owens
46 Jack Simmons (tight end)

The Media are just flat out jackels, Mark has had backups for the most part & a raw rookie in preseason games.
Holmes was rusty in his 1st game vs Panthers, Keller goes down after a 24 yard completion, then he loses Baker, I mean come on people!

The Pats 1st team offense has SUCKED TOO, & they have all their weapons playing, sans Welker in that last game.
NO ONE CARES WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THE STARTERS SIT, NO ONE! IT'S NOT REAL FOOTBALL! IT'S A BUNCH OF PLAYERS THROWN TOGETHER!
IT'S ONLY IMPORTANT TO THE COACHES! THE SCORE MEANS NOTHING!
THEY R ANALYZING INDIVIDUAL MATCHUPS!

Jets just need to get healthy at the offensive skill positions. I'm sure that they will add some depth from the cuts that come this week, and a blocking TE will probably be another addition.
This defense will be BETTER than 2009! With Wilkerson, Ellis, Coples, Maybin off the edge, Davis used on 3rd & long, Scott basically a role player.
Landry has made more plays ALREADY in preseason than Leonard & Smith made in all of 2011.
Sanchez looks good throwing some deeper routes, the Oline will come around with their new blocking schemes & Tebow will help move the chains a few times a game & help us SMASH it in inside the 5 yard line.
Sanchez only needs to not TURN THE BALL OVER, that is the biggest thing when you lead with your defense.
I LOVE that the Jets R getting killed in the media & being made FUN of. It will make it that much more fun when they start winning games.
4 Quarters of REAL FOOTBALL! 4 Quarters of Sanchez getting his timing!, 4 Quarters of the defense hitting the opposing QB!
Preseason is 2 or 3 possessions, there is a reason football is not a 1 quarter sport you media nimwits.

yup in 2009 we started off with way worse WR talent than what we have right now and Braylon Edwards wasn't that good that year, people around here wanted him gone.

The difference is we had a RB coming off of a 1,300+ yard 13 TD season and Leon Washington who was a proven play maker.

Even still, the run game struggle to start the season. It didn't get going until week 6. Yes Thomas Jones had a good game vs the Texans stat wise, but I remember he was getting stuffed most of the game and had some big runs at the end that made his stats nice.

The OL was struggling with run blocking and it took a while for them to get it going. We started 3-0 that year because Sanchez was playing well and our defense was dominating. Held the Patriots to 9 points.

People are overreacting to preseaosn games, they mean nothing. If Austin Howard holds up at RT, our OL can be very good. It might not be it right away but neither was the OL in 2009, they are learning a new scheme and sometimes it takes some time to gel and get it going.

Like 2009, we need to pick someone up like Ben Hartsock that can give us a big physical TE that is good at blocking because Cumberland gets abused and is a liability blocking.

Shonn Greene isn't as good as Thomas Jones, but Jones always sucked in preseason games as well, Greene gets better as the season moves on. Bilal Powell and Joe McKnight need to step up.

If we can add a veteran WR that would be nice, but the season isn't over because we didn't score a TD in preseason games. Our defense should be great, we don't play a lot of top offenses this year so winning low scoring games can happen. We play like 4 rookie QBs this season.

We also play a Steelers team that is having major issues as Oline!
Decastro will be OUT!
Talk about a team thin at the Oline, they have struggling rookie at RT, not what u want with Rex coming in. Defenses travel ANYWHERE.
Sanchez just needs to be mistake free. We had NO PASS RUSH in the 2010 playoffs, OLD PLAYERS up front!
Now we have Ellis, Mo, Coples, & really good back up roles players in Devito, Dixon, Pouha, Richardson.
Jets will get Rothlisberger off his spot except this time we'll have Maybin & Davis chasing him!
Big difference from 2010 when Shaun Ellis was chasing him.
