Not sure. I don't think the cap is going up so the rollover would be to meet the '13 cap number and assist in resigning their own FAs (Keller, Revis whomever)...

I don't think they'll have enough cap $$ to be major buyers even though they can cut Pace, Scott, JSmith (or restructure)...But I might be wrong

Cutting Scott and pace frees up around 13M alone. Then figure smith and hunter are off the books so that would be another 5M. I think there will be room to make a moderate splash in FA

No real high priced names on that list. Keller may command 4-5million per. Maybe if Landry stays healthy he gets an ok deal. Thats about it. I think Greene is gone after this season. He won't make much regardless. Bell is cheap if he plays well enough to be brought back. Maybin may get 2-3mill as a pass rush specialist. Revis will be the big money signing next season.

Also, part of the $140 million current cap number for 2013 right now is Jason Smiths $12 million roster bonus, which will never be paid. The situation is not as grim as it looks.

Next year they will have ample cap room and have a full slate of draft picks compared to any of the last 5 years. Tannenbaum isn't as stupid as many around here think.

This team can win with this schedule and hopefully make a playoff run, with still a relatively young core.

I suppose your crystal balls have told you that HILL, Schilens and Howard and/or Smith will fail us miserably! Not even one game has been played and the negative nabob's are out in full force! Its going to be a long season with them yapping like drunk magpies!

I have a feeling, and it's just that..a feeling, nothing to back it up at this point..that the Jets will be involved in an in-season trade which will add an offensive weapon. Much like they did for Braylon Edwards a few years ago.

I also think that MJD will be traded before the trade deadline.

Which is why in the "Make 3 predictions" thread, I wrote that the Jets leading rusher this season is not yet on the roster. (For which I was chastised by some homer and told that I wasn't a "real" Jets fan.)

Not saying I definitely think it will happen. I'd probably put the odds at less than 50% that MJD actually ends up on the Jets.

But, I do think something will happen before the trading deadline and the Jets will be players.

Holy Shnikeys! Add Revis to this list as he will probably expect a new contract. Wow, I don't see how we can be players, let alone field a competitive team. 5 starters on offense and at least 2 on defense.

For everyone that loves to bash tanny, I'm pretty sure this is the thing he is excellent at. Capology or whatever it's called. I'm confident he will get it done.
