Yes, he could die if he played in that altitude.

Probably a smart decision to keep him out of the game.

Same thing could happen if Welker goes over the middle in front of Landry. They are on notice as well.

They said on NBC last night that he has Sickle Cell, and last time he played in denver they had to remove his spleen and something else.

Pretty damn serious.

PIT is a strange team to figure out:

Offense

- Their O-Line is shaky
- They don't run the ball like they use to
- But "Rapeisberger's" toughness allows him to stand in the pocket and
make throws down the field to their speedy WR's

Defense

- They still run the Lebeau zone blitz to get pressure
- They seem to be in transition mixing older players with younger ones
- Not impressed with their secondary, not very good in man coverage
at all

This is a game that we're going to need Pouha & Devito healthy because
they are our run anchors. We've got to make them one handed and have
Revis & Cro play big against their WR's. It's going to be tough if we win its
going to be close

Mr. Sunshine chimes in. On a positive note, the last time the Jets played the Steelers in the Reg season in Pitt, the Jets won....

Can't wait for that one.... Also, the Pitt WR's are small, so we will see if Landry can line a few of them up for a good hit...

Like always. We have to tackle well. Last time we played them, in the playoffs, our tackling was terrible. Scott needs to keep in mouth shut and play football and tackle. We also need to keep Ben in the pocket, maybe even put a shadow on him?

Welker sucked yesterday. A perfect 3rd and 11 pass bounced right off his face mask.

Glad the Pats didn't extend him.

I think Edelman was on the field almost as much as Welker.

I noticed his stat line and was really shocked...3 catches i think? I know hernandez/gronk and lloyd are all great, but 3 catches for him is so odd

Brady only threw to him 4 times yesterday. The one drop and the 3 short completions.

Didn't see much of the Pats game yesterday. Although I did catch a glimpse of a Titans WR doing a pretty significant TD dance, especially since when I looked at the score, they were down by two TDs.

Looked pretty stupid.

Boomer just said the Pats were trying to "screw him for not signing a long term contract and taking a one year contract." He also said they want to bring his value down because he was on the field for 42 out of the 67 plays.

Over speculation.

I agree that the statistic is nothing really significant, but your comment shows why it has the level of importance that something like that does have: with all of the personnel changes that NFL teams go through on a year-to-year basis, the Steelers are an organization that doesn't falter even with those changes. The stat just tells us what we already knew: the Steelers are pretty much always a good team. Nothing groundbreaking.

and for that matter, the Jets have started 2-0 in two of the past three seasons...

Its week 1. The over reactions, whether its re Welker, the Wildcat, whatever....is pretty ridiculous.

I'm fairly confident that Wes Welker will have his day on the field this year. May not be 120 catches, but he'll be fine.

The keys to the Steelers game are twofold. First their run game is soft and shouldn't pose a threat. The game will be won or lost by limiting Ben's ability to improvise plays. He likes to hold the ball and is great at improvising. We need to stop the third and long conversions. If we can get penetration from the DT's we should be able to limit the extra time Ben usually gets to throw and improvise. That is the key in a nutshell. Revis will handle Wallace, Cro will handle Brown.

On Offense the key will be limiting Polamalu's big plays. I don't think we will have a big day running the rock but we will need to stick with it. If our O-line can handle their pass rush we should be able to move the chains. This is a much bigger test then the over hyped Buffalo D.
