Lost in all of this (and with the benefit of hindsight) is the great decision by Tanny and the FO to not redo the contract. As cruel as it sounds, the silver lining in this is that the Jets are in a much better position now if Revis' injury impacts his performance.

Going to be interesting to watch this play out. If he tore it and misses the rest of the year, how does he hold out for a new contract with 1 year left and how do the Jets handle it? Do they go the 'band-aid' route? Do they hold firm and make him prove his health and skills are still premier for his position?
