Can't throw, Catch, Stop Run = Win?!
How the heck did we win this game? It was an awful display all the way around (except for the kicking team). When was the last time we played so poorly and won?

you forgot rush the QB
Manish Mehta @MMehtaNYDN Jets QB Mark Sanchez was sacked once and hit 7 times. Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill wasn't sacked...and hit just twice. Last edited by C Mart; 09-24-2012 at 10:56 AM. |

Never.
Woke up today feeling like we lost because we damn well deserved to. This is not a good football team. With or without Revis this team will be no better than 8-8 at the end of the season and they'll use the Revis excuse to bring everyone back next season so we can see THE SAME OLD **** again. Disgusted. |

Lost in all this is that Folk had the game winner blocked. Luckily, Miami, and its coaching staff, sucks worse than us.

I thought real hard about the positives from this game last night and all I came up with was that our P and K looked good. But like Borgo said, one kick was blocked.
Grateful for the win. But this offense has now looked like the pre season offense for 7 quarters. |

Our young guys seem to be failing for the most part. Our staff seems out coached. The Steelers out hit us. Sanchez was seriously hit and did we retaliate? Whatever happened to " if u hit one of ours we will hit two of yours" Rex is all bluster and BS. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Go Jets! |

Anyone thinking that that was a legit blocked FG attempt has no clue. |

If things get fixed, we'll look back at yesterday's game as having stole one and really improved our playoff chances down the line. If things don't, it'll just be a meaningless win over another lousy team. |

There's one big "can't" that was missed here, and that's "RUN." The Jets defense is so agonizingly slow. On the play where Revis was injured, Daniel Thomas (not exactly a burner) shook 5 guys out of their shoes. They look like the guys at the gym who only work on their upper body.
The only people on this defense that actually have playmaking speed are Landry, Cro and Maybin. Landry's out of control half the time, Cro is not exactly a physical player, and Maybin literally morphs into dust the second a lineman puts a finger on him. There is a simple blueprint to beat the Jets. Empty the backfield on 3rd down, since you don't need that extra blocker. Call any variety of spacing routes, regardless of how long the play takes to develop. Complete pass. I actually have a lot more faith in the offense turning it around at this point. The defense will not finish in the top 15, and the only way the Jets continue to win games this year is if they put up points. |

I've heard several experienced kickers say "icing" is helpful in that it gives them more time to focus and get ready for the kick.

We may be 2-1 but we still can't tackle.
