Copy of letter I sent to Jets ticket sales last night

As someone who has braved the cold and windy days both at Shea and the Meadowlands since 1967 as a season ticket holder I cannot put the frustration of the product that management has fielded this year into words.

In order to meet the demands of raising ticket prices I had to share the cost of season tickets with two other Jet fans. I believed with a new stadium and new coaching staff that the Jets would soon be able to give long suffering Jet fans a chance at winning it all. We all however have been scammed.

Rather than talk about this from an emotional standpoint let me approach this from a business standpoint. You're only as good as the product that they you put on the field to "entertain" the fans. What we witnesses yesterday was not entertainment but an embarrassment. So as a "customer" of this franchise where do I go for a refund or to get satisfaction ? You dare charge me for seat licenses and Thank God I was able to afford it but where do I go and what do I do when you consistently put a sub-par product on the field ?

When I saw the New York media portray the Jets as clowns I became angry and the Jets as an organization should have also been very angry because their rivals are winning Super Bowls while Rex Ryan and company continue to flounder. Woody as a business person knows about performance and the performance to date is further indications that the virus effecting this organization has not been eradicated.

I urge this organization to take whatever steps are necessary to give New York and Jet fans what they deserve after more than 40 years of selling out seats to see really bad teams: a winner. It's not always the most popular person who gets things done and this organization needs to clean house to clearly show Jet fans that the bottom line is winning not just talking about winning.

Thank you

It was appalling the amount of 49er fans that were there yesterday APPALLING.

Woody should be embarassed by what he did with this stadium. For whatever reason, be it fans disenchantment with the team, huge price increases, etc there is simply no reason WHATSOEVER for a 1pm game, on a beautiful fall day, when the team is in first place and coming off a win, for us to have half the stadium full of opposing fans.

I cannot imagine what the place will look like if the team falls apart this year and what will happen to the overall PSL market, but Woody should be held accountable for what HE put in the seats yesterday

I'm not really mad at Woody. I think the entire league right now is unwatchable. This is a result of a league that has promoted socialism for the owners while promoting capitalism with the fans. We have a game that has no flow or rythem because of TV timeouts, constant challenges because of sub par part time officials and new rules which continually change the entire concept of the game. What should be a fantastic action packed game of emotion and on the edge drama has been reduced to 20 minutes over 3.5 hours of mostly standing around.

If the Jets were 3 and 1 or 4 and 0 this would still be unwatchable and a terrible ripoff.

Right on!!!! I've been a season ticket holder for thirty-three years and also have PSL'S. I too bought them for the same reason you did.
A couple of weeks ago I posted "Games are won on the practice field not on game day and took some heat from some of the wise crackers on this board who in my opinion don't know their A-- from their elbows. This franchise is a mess and the product from the owner down to the product on the field is not worth the price of admission. I was telling my friend who also has PSL seats on the way out of the stadium I don't know if I'll attend the Monday Night game, but I doubt if we could even sell our seats and the only way we could probably get someone to take them is if we paid them to take them.
I don't see any thing good coming out of yesterdays fiasco because there is no accountability to the fans from the owner. It is all BS and lies.
Now we'll find out what kind of HC and coaching staff we have. If Rex can keep this team together and manage to turn this team into a team that can tackle and execute the plays and win some games he might deserve one more year. But I feel Woody needs to hire a GM who can build a scouting dept., and knows how to put it all together.
The Jets need a QB. Sanchez has proven he is a bust! There is some talent on this team but I don't feel the coaching staff knows how to coach them up and develop them. I could go on and on but I am tired of repeating what has already been said a thousand times by others and myself about all the problems this franchise has.

If you paid for a PSL they do not care, you are obligated to buy tickets every year no matter what the situation. Other than that, the team could care less.

PS, this organization continues to operate like a circus sideshow. Bring in real football people to run this thing or we're all gone. SOJ and we're fed up with it.

Totally agree. Watch college games, then watch any NFL game. The college games are much more exciting at this point.

Right on - this is the way to do it!

The longest-tenured Jets are US, the fans. We've been here forever - all the players, coaches and owners are just visitors in our world. I too remember going to Shea - I've been an active fan since 1981.

Enough is enough!! This guy needs to hear about it.

EDIT: I tweeted Woody. That he needs to bring some real football guys into his FO. That the team is becoming a joke. Someone make a hashtag - let's get this thing TRENDING.

1965/66 for me. Watching the team go through the same cycle of ineptitude gets tougher every year.

The stadium was at near capacity yesterday. It does not matter to Woody or anyone else that half of those were wearing red.

The money to build that crap stadium has already been taken.

Jets fans simply do not have the resolve, the organizational skills, or the leadership to take appropriate steps to really affect change from within. Until that changes, we will be stuck in mediocrity.

You have to hit Woody in the wallet. Boycott any company that advertises with the Jets. Stop buying food and beer. Stop wearing their merchandise. And instead of selling the tickets you've already paid for, use them to voice your displeasure. That can mean booing, or that can mean extending your tailgate for the entirety of the game. A parking lot sit-in big enough to leave the stadium empty would send a message.

If you're an upper deck STH, drop them, and buy individual game tickets from other fans (not from the team). There will be plenty of them available. You'll be able to help PSL holders and fellow fans recoup some of their own losses, while simultaneously hurting the team.

OK I lets say I work for JETs, what do I do with this letter. You give no actionable information. Complaining the team stinks or you dont like the prices they charge for seats is whining. Tell the Jets what they should do to win or tell them exactly what you want to make you happy regarding your seat and or ticket price.

not to rehash the New Jersey vs New York argument, because i'm fine with where the stadium is. but when a huge chunk of your fan base lives on LI, a huge chunk is also not crossing that bridge every week to go to games.

that certainly plays a factor imo.

Anyone who spent money for a ticket yesterday should get a refund. Isn't that what they do when a performer doesn't show up?
