Comment about Saints D Sunday night also applies to the Jets
I was watching the game Sunday night and one of the commentators (don't remember who) was talking about the Saints front 4 when they were on the field. He said "They don't have any 'fast twitch' players" and can't generate a pass rush on their own.
This sums up the Jets players as well. Even though we've spent 3 draft picks in the past 2 years (Wilkerson, Ellis, Coples) on d-linemen, none of them have the explosiveness to beat a blocker 1 on 1 on a consistant basis. And before anyone says "well, we play a 3-4 and they're not supposed to be good pass rushers", did you see JJ Watt last night? Last edited by CTJetsFanII; 10-09-2012 at 08:26 AM. |

Yeah, defenders who can beat offensive linemen on a consistent basis are pro bowlers. And nice to have.
Sure, we definitely need some of those. |
