If the NFL Draft was tomorrow...

So this asks, "If the NFL Draft was tomorrow, what or who do you think the Jets would take within the first three rounds?"

This does not take into account current injuries (which would not be a factor for the draft unless someone on the current roster is habitually hurt) or FA acquisitions between now and then.

Personally, in no particular order, I think the Jets take:

-A Huge Hulking TE who is primarily a great blocker but could catch the occasional pass

-A tough WR with average or better height who can catch over the middle

-An OLB with some speed to help replace Thomas

You?

Stop being a SOJF talking about the draft like the season is already over. It doesn't matter who we pick because our team is so stacked and has such remarkable depth that we will dominate the NFL for the forseeable future. Last night's game was the turning point. Rex has this team ready to play.

Use FA for OL and WR. Need a proven player at those positions while we develop younger players.

Mongo or whoever is the best pass rushing OLB on the board. No sense reaching for a QB, there are no Andrew Lucks or RG3s on the board. We can add a stud RB via free agency, sign or draft an O-lineman, sign or draft a cover safety, and we are right back in the thick of things.

We are closer to during up the D into an elite unit than we are to revamping the offense with a rookie QB. Unless there is a cant miss prospect on the board, I go defense and finish the job Rex is trying to build.

Fair enough. I initially had the MLB higher, but I moved it down.

And by "pass rusher", I mean a 4-3 DE with speed. No more 300lb DL, we have Ellis, Wilk, Coples and Harrison to play DT now.

I wouldn't trust Rex with another QB but other than that I like this order.

Nor would I.

Rex has shown the same amount of growth as a HC that Sanchez has as a QB.

The thing is, there was no reason not to start doing this this year, give Sanchez some support if they have to keep him around.

The Jets would take:

1. Inside linebacker
2. Running back
3. Defensive line

Rex can't run the ball or stop the run right now. He's going nuts. I doubt he can look himself in the mirror.

1. Running back (difference maker, weapon, homerun ability)

2. Passrushing OLB

3. Versatile, balanced TE (not a liability in passing or running game, even if not spectacular in either)

4. Offensive Lineman (preferably a RT/OG)

The OL sucks!

Our biggest problem has been the inability to move the ball in our Run n

None
offense. While I definitely agree our RBs are subpar, I also believe the

overall lack of success in the running game is due to piss-poor offensive line

play. Therefore, OL would be my #1 target and subsequently I'd look to trade

down from the high 1st round pick we'll likely have.
