the real problem beating pats

Stopping Gronk and Hernandez. In truth Laundry and Bell were brought in for this except Hernandez needs to be covered by a corner because of his speed.Welker poses an issue in the slot because he runs all the tough stuff at short distance.
Hopefully we face only Ridley who can be stopped in the run game.Woodhead is a slow Welker in the pass and can be separated from the ball in the run.
Sporano beat pats while at Miami using Qb /rb run option so we might be seeing a big dose of Tebow.
In the end Jets have to playtheir best game, but we all know that.

Brady will have a field day against the old, slow and soft Jets defense.

Still true to a degree, but that was more true last year than this year. As I mentioned in another thread, Gronk and Hernandez are so banged up right now that they look much more like Jake Ballard (Gronk) and Dennis Pitta (Hernandez) than their 2011 selves.

2) the real problem beating the Pats - Welker and Loyd
3) the real problem beating the Pats - stop their running game

The real problem beating them will always be stopping Brady... Or hoping for an off day. To suggest anything different is just complicating the situation.

Pitchers have off days, I'm hoping Brady has an off day. That happens, we have a good shot at winning.

The issues are at key positions.

1. QB. Not even close.
2. TE's Ditto.
3. WR's Ditto, Ditto.
4. Coaching B.B. is better. Rex holds on to players that under perform, and looks lost.
5. RB's Close, but the Pats always find someone that runs well against us.

The Pats have lost 3 times this year and are the best .500 team around, or are they? Teams have figured a way to beat the Pats and have executed these plans well. The issue is, the Jets have issues executing anything well.

The d will have to keep it close and if the o can run 3-4 long drives, then we have a chance.

Not as simple as the the 3 teams that beat the Jets though. BTW, did the Jets even field a team against SF or did they send out the cheerleaders?????

When Ray Rice was stepping on the Pats throat, did they realize it wasnt flag football? When rookie hobbit Wilson was pitch-and-catching it to his WR's for 14 points up in Seattle - did the Pats realize they had 23 points and not 32??

Must be a coaching thing.

The difference is that the Jets should be 3-3 and are. The Pats should be 5-1 and are 3-3 - doncha think

No problem beating them to the tune of 4 whole points. Easy peazy.

The real problem is we have slow, old, unathletic linebackers who cant make plays when our young talented D-Line successfully takes up blockers and opens the lane for them to make plays.

again, did you guys field a team against SF or did you just decide to take the day off? I'd take any Pats loss over that game. ROFL

Who gives a sh1t

A loss is a loss

by 1 or 34, it's a loss....and you've been shredded by the likes of Russell Wilson and Kevin Kolb

The Pasts secondary is THE WORST IN FOOTBALL....by A LOT!!

You are not going to stop Gronk, Hernandez and Welker. They are going to get their catches. You have to shut down the Pats running game and force them to throw the ball. The Patriots have killed the Jets on drives where they ran the ball right up their ass. When the Pats have both the running and passing game going it is near impossible to out score them. Force a few FGs instead of TDs, and hope that the Jets can move the ball effectively.

Who gets the edge?

QB - Pats
OL - Even
TEs - Pats
WRs - Pats

DL - Pats
LB - Even
CB - Jets
S - Jets

STs - Even
Coaching - Pats

Pats are not a good matchup for us right now. Not unless we can get a 4 man pass rush. The TEs are a little banged so that might help us.
