The Facemask call on the Punt

I apologize if anyone else brought this up but I didn't bsee it.

When the ref made the call he said it bwas a Facemask "Prior to the kick!"

I played it back several times and the penalty clearly took place well after the ball had been kicked.

If the penalty took place AFTER the kick it should have been assessed on the Jets and marched off from the point where we returned the ball.

Could we have challanged the timing of the penalty?

Look back at it if you have it recorded.

It's hysterical how people were screaming and crying how bad the replacement refs were.

Just one of many calls that the refs tanked today.

No, you cannot challenge a penalty or the timing of a penalty.

They missed a lot of calls, but they were at least impartial. These refs are 10x better if your a pats fan, and 10x worse if your any other fan.

you know you're not gonna get any breaks when you go there:

1. this play
2. wilson pi called by the guy in vermont

many more, but most importantly,

HOW was belichick not called for throwing the challenge flag on that cro/hernandez play? its unsportsmanlike and would've been first and goal at the 16 instead of first and goal at the 1. its been called in other games this year...

I noticed this as well, it was clearly after the kick.

But did you pick up how enthusiastic his (Patriots) "1ST AND 10" announcement was? Probably the first time I've watched football where I've picked up a referee not sounding neutral whatsoever.

I noticed it. Also noticed the end of the game call too.

Someone please tell me why the ref was so enthusiastic about the two calls; both of which signaled a negative outcome for the jets.

I noticed it too, everyone likes to give good news to an audience but that was unprofessional.

Pats will always have the refs on their side. You can't do anything about that. You know what you CAN do something about? You can do something about calling shotgun formation on 3rd and 1 when your RB has been perfect on short yardage so far...

You are obviously not aware of the following NFL rules

1) it is a 15 yard unsportsmanlike penalty for hurling your challenge flag on a play automatically reviewed....unless you are Belichick

2) you are banned for life from the NFL when caught cheating for 8 years after receiving a written warning to desist....unless you are Belichick

If we can cry little louder after every game maybe the league office can hear us.

6 calls I counted
1 the face mask the sack that ended the play (the brady rule a defensive player can not tackle the qb below the knees)
2 the face mask one
3 the fumble and the challenge by Bellicheat that is a 15 yarder for trying to challenge a play that was going to be reviewed
3 tripping on jones then a phantom hold on moore
4 the hit by spike leading with his helmet on a defenseless receiver
5 spikes again for continuing to rough up the rb after the whistle
6 the PI against the Wilson when the ref 4 yrds away did not call it

this game stinks to high heaven of cheating and the NFL needs to release a statement on the poor officiating on this I tweeted the nfl commish and wrote the JETs. I encourage everyone else here to do the same.
6 calls 3 which lead to scores one ended the game call 4 of the 6 and that is 60 yards in penalties alone
If I performed my job in the same manner I would be fired

Officials should be reviewed and fined post game just like players.

Add to the list the holding call on the punt being after the kick. We still get the ball albeit minus the penalty yards. But clearly they want the Pats to get the ball back.
Edit : I cant read it is number 2
