You want to lay blame at Hill for not catching the 3rd-down pass? Well, I can't really argue that. But the Pats are driving for a TD instead of a FG if he's able to either hand the ball off to Greene successfully OR hit Hill wide open for a TD. When does Sanchez make the necessary plays and avoid the killer mistakes that make the difference in games? |

Rex is doing a good job with what he has to work with. Revis goes down, D hasn't missed a beat. We've gotten great contributions from our young WRs. What Rex cannot overcome is a turnover prone QB that ranges from great to horrible, often within a quarter.
We traded up to #5 in the draft to get a franchise QB that could torch bad pass Ds. Instead, we got a QB that can put up numbers on a bad pass D, but still makes enough mistakes to the point where the decent numbers don't even matter. You're OK with mediocre QB play, you've made that well known. Some of us, however, are not. |

There is no excuse for the play calling on 3rd and 1 on the 3 when you rushed th eball all the way down the field. There is no excuse for Hill trying to run on that last possession in reg time before he caught the ball and then dropped it. There is no excuse to rush 3 linemen to prevent OT and go into a prevent D when your regular D was doing just fine all game. All that being said, if the QB play does not improve we are not going anywhere. The Patsies were there for the taking and we puckered up. |

SAR....with you totally on the defense, NEVER can put game away. But, don't forget that twice in last 3 weeks Sanchez has had ball at end of game with chance to win, and we get INT(Texans) and incomprehensible fumble yesterday. The guy is not the answer, and unfortunately, the people who could change that don't agree.

With our luck Sanchez tries to throw it away, gets Intentional Grounding and stops the clock AND losing yards.

Defense did not lose that game. Its not even arguable. Stephen Hill catches that pass, we are not even talking right now...we are celebrating a great win. Sanchez doesn't throw that lame duck up for a pick, Sparano doesn't make that ridiculous play call, Rex and Pettine don't lose their stones. Defense played great yesterday. |

SAR's arguments regarding this Rex/Sanchez dynamic rarely makes sense. We managed to get to two AFC title games with terrible QB production. He doesn't understand how difficult that is. Can anyone imagine what this teams record would be if Peyton Manning was QB? Or they'd at least be 1 or 2 wins better with some reasonable talent on offense.
SAR blames Rex for Sanchez's struggles and the lack of talent around him. Rex doesn't put the players on the field. He offers insight into personnel moves, that is all. I believe SAR actually believes Rex convinced Tanny that they should ignore the offense. "Hey Mike, I only care about defense. Offensively, we just need to run the ball. So ignore the WR position." In actuality, it was Tanny who blew it by signing Plaxico and not unearthing any gems at the WR position. He also gave Rex Greene to be the ground and pound back, and he's not that good. Rex didn't enthusiastically endorse Wayne Hunter or Slauson. These are PERSONNEL decisions that Tanny makes the final call on. Blaming Rex's philosophy for the lack of talent on the field is ridiculous. Rex has his flaws, quite a few of them, but SAR is completely off when he posts nonsense like this. |

And there has been nothing wrong with drafting defensive players in the first round. The Giants have done it often and hit on quite a few. Why they're so much better on offense is because they have an accurate clutch QB and a bunch of WR's. One guy goes out, another solid guy steps in. Our depth at WR is poor and that's not Rex's fault.

Between them, in the first six games---how many sacks do our two number ones, Wilkerson and Coples have between them? You can only laugh at the delusions of some FANatics.

1. Sanchez in the second half was about as good as we could have asked him to be. 16/20 for 190 yards and a touchdown. He single-handedly led the 92 yard touchdown drive to bring the game within three points. And yes, that 3rd and 1 call with the slant was an atrocious call. 2. I agree that the interception was simply gross, as he saw the play develop too late. That was a missed opportunity and inexcusable. But to say that he wasn't seeing the field all game is a hyperbole. Yes there were certainly some missed opportunities, but he doesn't throw for a 68% completion percentage and over 300 yards by not seeing the field. 3. The sack that he took at the end of the fourth quarter was absolutely the correct play. In that situation, if there is nothing open, you can not force the ball in somewhere and risk a turnover. Additionally, if Sanchez throws the ball out of bounds, which you claim any Pop Warner quarterback would do, that saves the Patriots a timeout. Yes he lost about 10 yards or so, but the sack certainly does not take you out of field goal range at that point, and it takes a timeout away from the Pats. I hate to consistently come off as a Sanchez apologist, but this loss was simply not his fault. Missed opportunities and a lack of the defense getting off the field late in the game is. I completely agree with SAR here. He is not saying the defense did not perform well throughout the entire game, he is simply saying at the END of the game, the defense did not come up clutch. You have to stop Brady in that last drive, and you can not allow the Patriots to move the ball down the field in OT. |

So you're saying...
that rushing 3 guys against tom brady is ridiculously stupid?
Is anyone shocked he picked that **** apart? That was a joke. Leaving him w/ 90 seconds was a joke too.... A great man once said, "You play to win the game... Hello!" The Jets played to survive the game. That was a true SOJ moment.... |

The vaunted Ryan defense has a very bad habit of failing at the end of the game. You can delude yourself as much as you want, but the fact remains, that a good defense is there in crunch time.

![]() Despite all the mistakes and mental errors committed by Sanchez and the O(as well as Special Teams giving up that TD), if the Jets So-called Vaunted Defense managed to stop Brady during the last drive of regulation, EVERYTHING else regarding the mistakes and mental errors would be rendered MOOT! And we'd be discussing a hard-fought 26-23 Jets win. |
