The Seminal Concerts

I was just having another listen to Led Zeppelin's concert at The Royal Albert Hall. The power and skill of the band at this point in their history always knocks me out, especially considering that they created this archetypal sound in 1970.

I'll leave the entire concert here for folks who are interested, as they might check in for various bits and pieces of this brilliance. I just wish "Moby Dick" was a real song, as opposed to a vehicle for Bonzo's drum solo. Always loved that killer riff.

So, please enjoy the Zep concert, as well as posting any other show you feel might be a seminal rock/pop/folk/etc. event.

A masterwork, now restored to what the concert audience actually heard and experienced, not the edited form which appeared on the Live at Leeds record most of us had back in the day.

IMO, a seminal moment in the life of Genesis. Prog fans will get chills with Gabriel's first vocal note at 2:29. If you listen to only one section, make it "The Musical Box" at approx. 24:00.

Once I'm finished with the Honey-Do's, I am in this thread at high volume! Great idea for a music thread

If you look closely...JPJ played the acoustic 360 refex amp. I owned same one. Was HUGE. A b1tch to get around but sounded terrific.

I see it in the cover for the video. Those were amazing bass amps.

Every member of Purple Mach II plays/sings out of their minds on this stunning moment in rock & roll history. For me, unsung performer is Ian Paice. What a b1tch of a drummer.

This one still astounds. Three shows I've posted all stem from 1970. What a year.

IMHO, the bootleg "A Brussels Affair" is the best live recording of the Stones. It was recorded in 1973. A must have for any Stones fan.

As for a concert film, Ladies & Gentlemen: The Rolling Stones is a great. Check out Mick Taylor's slide guitar here. (3:00 minute mark) Just amazing.
