Colin Kaepernick

With Alex Smith likley sitting out this week it will be interesting to see how Kaepernick does against the Bears D.
He could be a guy the Jets target in the off season to come in and compete with Sanchez for the starting job.

Kaepernick is under contract with the 49ers through 2015.

How is Kaepernick available next year? Harbaugh loves the kid and almost made him the starter last year.

He seems to have an absolute cannon for an arm, from the few passes I've seen. He's also one hell of a runner.

The prior poster is using Fatsesca Logic.

Definition:

Fatsesca Logic: Other teams will make their players available to New York teams b/c NY teams are entitled to any player that they want.

Facts from 49ers point of view:
1) Alex Smith doesn't look like he will ever be a special player
2) Kaepernick has shown good things and has great wheels
3) Kaepernick is under contract for chump change for a number of years.

Why would the 9ers get rid of him?

If anything, Smith could be gone from the 9ers in the offseason.

Kaepernick wont be available any more then ben tate will (mentioned in previous threads).

Good organizations/coaches, dont give up low priced backups as they are extremely valuable when building a TEAM.

There is nothing further to discuss with this....
