Aldon Smith...guy is really good. Is there a player like that in next April's draft? Mingo? Jets should target a player like that.

Absolutely. Colin Kaepernick. Cam Newton. RGIII. Michael Vick. Yet not Tim Tebow? Give me a break.

I'm sure teams will inquire after tonight. You have to think the Niners see him as their starting QB of the future though. Smith might be the guy available

The trade deadline is over so they will have to wait till the off season.

Maybe they do see him as someone who can challenge Smith in the future. But they just paid Smith so I think they might be open to trade unless Kaepernick really does well.

Those big long legs aren't gonna last long in the NFL if he insists on running like he does.

@adbrandt: Re questions about Alex Smith, has a roster bonus of $1M due in March and $1M of his $7.5M salary next year is guaranteed.

The Bears offense is a trainwreck. Their o-line is still miserable and one reason I never viewed them that seriously as a contender

Jealous watching the 49ers, that's who the Jets are supposed to be. They're more talented at every position, how did that happen?

Pretty team-friendly contract. Maybe they would part with ways if the situation is right.

So the Bears are basically the JETS of the NFC.

This is exactly what some of us were talking about when we played the 49ers. They are the team we wanted to be. Not only are they superior on the field, they are superior on the sideline as well as the FO.

They've SUCKED for so long....eventually all the HIGH draft picks they've had paid off.

Can't decide which team does more HGH, the Texans or 49ers?

Heehee! That reminds me -- How do the Pats always have such depth when they don't get any high draft picks?

We don't juice as much... No coincidence that we got slower/injury prone when Alosi left...

Better coaching. More discipline. Better execution.

But yeah, this is what the Jets were supposed to be. What we should be. Pound it down their throats (lulz) with the run game, and play hard nosed defense.

Ughh.

Love the Niners run game. People slobber all over themselves about creativness and wrinkles in the pass game, the Niners create the same effectivness with the run game. Really fun to watch them. If they had a top end back instead of a over the hill Gore, they'd put up damn near 2000 yards.

For those wondering how the Niners became what we thought the Jets should be, it helps picking in the top ten area 6 times out of 7 from 2005 and having 2 first round picks in 3 of those years helps a lot. Helps even more when you don't really miss(even though they have missed a few times.)
