jamaal westerman

waived by the arizona cardinals. i thought he was decent here and contributed on special teams. hes way better than a few of the starters and definitely better than the depth guys here.

He never did a thing here despite the hype. I'd rather bring back Maybin.

Here's hoping that GS3 under center, and Coples on the edge works out.

He did have 1 tackle in 5 games this year, and 49 in 3 years here. I think he could be just what we are missing. We don't have any big slow linebackers on the team, do we?.

I laughed out loud when I read that.

Westerman had some alright moments as a situational pass-rusher, nothing that would justify bringing him back though.

As a passrusher he is much better than Pace. Still he didn't deliver on all the hype on him last year as being an above average pass rusher. Bart even referred to him as the best pass ruher on the team at one point but that's not saying much aye.

let's get Littlejohn Flowers back in here while we're at it

get Fryer, Tuck and some other guys too and we'd have a band of merry men

The best season Westerman ever had was 3 1/2 sacks and 1 FF for us last season.

http://www.nfl.com/players/search?ca...erType=current

Excluding this season - In 4 full seasons with the Jets, Pace's worst stats were last year when he had 4 1/2 sacks, he also had 3 FF's and 1 INT. He had 5 1/2, 8 & 7 sacks in the previous 3 seasons respectively. Pace will never be a double digit sack guy but his production has been pretty solid & consistent since he has been here - despite all the flack he gets from alot of posters here and he is solid against the run. The only real knock on Pace is that he is a liability in coverage - which isn't why he was brought here in the first place.

There is NO comparison between Westerman and Pace - none whatsoever.

The real underachiever in the Jets LBing corps now is Bart Scott, not Calvin Pace and personally I think this will be Bart's last season as a Jet. I don't see how the front office can justify bringing him back next season - cap hit or otherwise, he simply is not productive enough to take up a roster spot anymore.

...based on the tons of film on Sapp, right? We don't know what we have in Sapp yet. He seemed to get some decent pressures in the StL game.

And he's not better than Pace. The guy's a total JAG.

What are you talking about all 3 are JAGs. Westy is just the better of the 3. Sapp and Pace couldn't tackle my 88 year old grandmother.
