At dinner, we were talking about how, supposedly, The Hunger Games ripped off the Japanese film, Battle Royale. Not having seen the effort from Japan, I checked the trailer on YouTube. Looks very cool and I added it to my NetFlix queue.

Whilst on Youtube, I happened upon this awesome trailer. Why didn't I think of a strip mahjong project?

Great movie (Battle Royale, that is -- never seen Hunger Games) that I've now seen 3 or 4 times. Tarantino rated it as the best non-Tarantino movie since 1992 or so. I don't know your movie tastes like I know your musical tastes, but I'm guessing you will enjoy it.

Thanks for the recommendation and information. I should have the flick via mail by mid-week. We'll watch it next weekend. Can't wait.

I read The Hunger Games and thought it was a mildly amusing tale. I was completely disappointed in the film version, as it missed many of the finer points of the novel.

I also read them before it was a sensation and my first thought was "holy **** what a ripoff of Battle Royale!" Enjoy the movie. It's a hilarious cult classic.
