Arrow Maybe the Sanchez problem can be solved via San Diego...

Sanchez is not the answer in New York. He is locked up through next season.

Philip Rivers is signed in San Diego through 2015. He is in free fall right now.

I have to believe San Diego would SERIOUSLY entertain a swap of contracts at this point. Rivers is the better QB but his contract is a liability. Getting out of San Diego could be the change Rivers need to get his mojo back.

Sanchez is still very young and a change of scenery - especially in Southern California - could rejuvenate his career. And the SD fan base might be excited to get the USC product back in the area.

It seems like a good possible out for both franchises.

Thoughts?

Both need a change of scenery. Not a bad idea. Jets still need a new OC and QB coach.

Rivers would never handle the NY media.

Sanchez might return to being a game manager in California.

Why would we want Rivers? Yeah, compared to Mark he's better. But both are turnover machines. F**k both these tools.

The idea that the Chargers would trade for Mark Sanchez is so absurd it does not warrant discussion. Keep dreaming fellas

I don't see any possible way SD takes Sanchez for Rivers. They would be out of their minds to do that. The Jets would definitely have to include picks, if this were even close to being a reality.

I think he would be fine here, a vet would tell the media to go f themselves after a while.

Why wouldn't Rivers handle the New York media? Nobody has been able to explain that. Is Rivers a dick? Yea. But he has done nothing through his career that would prove himself as bad to the media.

I think you overestimate San Diego's affection for their starting QB. And as I said, it has as much to do about unloading a contract as it is to taking a flyer on Sanchez.

Who knows who will be running SD in '13. Norv won't be there and I'm guessing neither will be AJ Smith

Sanchez will be lucky to be holding a clipboard in 2014. The Chargers are a bad organization, but they aren't THAT bad

But we have the original Suckchez! Actually Rivers could be very good for us. especially if we hire Norv as our OC.

So as a new GM, let's pretend it's you, your first move is to bring in a guy who just got benched for Greg McElroy? I can't even believe this is a discussion...

and if Norv comes to us as the OC, a Rivers for Suckchez trade would be incredible for us!
