Jets-Cards trade scenario

Revis for Fitzgerald. Would do it in a heartbeat. Thoughts?

Nope . Fitz will be 30 in August while I still think he will great he is definitely its only down hill from year. But then again he one of hardest working players in football he could probably play to 38.

No-way REVIS stays: they Can have Tebow & Holmes & a 2014 - 3rd rd. draft pick for Fitz.

Do it in a heart beat. You don't know if you can sign Revis and you get Fitzgerald for at least 3 years of play with no cap hit when he is cut.

If Revis walks the jets get the 97th pick in 2014. I rather have a player that i know will be here in 2013-2015 than take a chance and sign Revis long term to a contract with SB issues 4 years down the line when he is 33 and making 15 mill a year and you can't cut him because of the cap hit.

I think Atlanta will be away next year, too. That would be great trip.

We need to trade Revis for a head coach, it's the bigger priority.

We don't have a QB. How is Fitz going to help this team without a QB?

He's clearly tearing it up now without one on his team now!

Fitzgerald is precisely the situation to point to when people say it's not Sanchez it's the supporting cast.

But you have a superstar tied to you with no SB to account for, vs Revis who is coming off a ACL tear and may not play until the start of next year and then can leave at the end of next year with hardly any comp value at all.

You just can't look at it as a trade of talent, their contract status trumps and diff in talent or present need.

Look at it this way, if revis walks next year, how would you feel about the trade then? When You could have had Fitz for 4 years at about 12 mill a year and the ability to cut him with no cap hit at any time.

Why would a team with a decent Defense (and defensive backfield) and no offense of any kind trade to aquire Revis, and give away their only offensive weapon?

Exactly, we would need a QB who can look downfield and find a second read once in a while. On our team, sanchez would just stare at fitz until he was triple teamed then throw it to him...if of course, he didnt fumble first

This. Only the Jets make trades and sign free agents to improve a team strength.

I'll take it a step further, send them Sanchez and Harris, and try to get Peterson in the deal. Fitzpatrick would make McElroy's life a lot easier.
