Even Cimini just wrote a column praising Rex for keeping his mouth shut and learning about making guarantees, etc. Think espn or NFL network will be talking about that? not juicy enough. don't believe the media, you only see what they want you to see |

I don't think anybody realizes this:
The hype in 2009 and 2010 were well founded, those teams had quality wins. The 2009 Jets beat the Pats and Colts in the regular season. And they had the best running game and defense in the NFL. That is huge. The 2010 Jets again beat the Pats in the regular season and the Steelers in Pittsburgh. Since the victory over the Pats in the 2010 Playoffs, this team has not beaten a team over .500 outside of Indy this year and Dallas last year. Two teams perceived as sort of "meh." Many will discredit these little factoids as meaningless. But they mean everything to me: If you can't beat quality teams (there are very few this year,) then even making the playoffs is sort of meaningless unless you are of course Paul Brown who thrives on making the playoffs and getting blown off the field against the first sign of resistance by anybody decent. If you are happy making the playoffs and then praying that your opponent plays down below your level, feel free to go root for the Bills, Bengals, Tennessee or any of the other bastions of mediocrity out there. Beyond that, the Jets don't have a QB. They haven't had one since Chad's first shoulder shredding. Winning in spite of your QB is not how you win Championships today. Look at the Redskins, horrendous in so many facets, but a better record than the Jets and still in the ultra-competitive NFC playoff hunt simply because Shanahan knew that RG3 was a massive opportunity to maintain a competitive football team for years to come. Do you think Fisher is going to be happy when he loses his job in 3-4 years because he made that trade? Do you think Fisher's blind loyalty to Bradford because he was the #1 overall pick in 2010 is even warranted? Does it matter what you traded or what slot somebody is drafted more than what year he was drafted in, or who was passed on to maintain the insistence that a guy will "improve," like in Bradford's case? Better question to sum it all up: Would you have taken Luck and RG3 over Bradford if he was coming out this year? How about over Sanchez? Do you even look ahead as a GM to the following year's draft before committing years of "development," to the factor that will determine if you will be a potential Super Bowl contender or Pretender that is today's NFL QB? My guess is that the great GM's undoubtedly do. And an owner who lets them do so is part of what makes a great owner vs. Woody Johnson who "can't get enough Tebow." I think some GM's will even tank via dogcrap talent to get out of middling ruts. As such, if Tannenbaum was for real, he should be providing 3-4 hour power point presentations to Woody Johnson right now as to why it is vital that the Jets make a play for Manziel when he comes out. Thank you. This team is for $hit. They have proved that each and every time they play a quality opponent that does not have a below high school caliber QB. |

That play starts now. You want Manziel? You want this team to lose this week and then trade away that first rounder to Jacksonville or KC for their 2014 First rounder.
Doing so insures suckage next season for the Jets, hopefully getting them the top pick. Next year's trash anyway. We're stuck with Sanchez and in Cap hell. Tank it, dump cap space make moves in FA and draft well. If you can't get Manziel, see my sig. Clowney is going to be better than Aldon Smith. DE is the 2nd most important position in football. Bets can be hedged on Manziel by talking Landry Jones in the 2nd round. Last edited by PMarsico9; 12-11-2012 at 11:32 AM. |

He hates Woody, because Woody is a rich, vocal, Republican. Sadly, Copernicus is unable to seperate football from Politics. |

Even the fans think this team is garbage but that is nothing new.
It may be Rex's best coaching job. This team has no business being 500 or around it. Our best players are injured and even the marginal players are hurt. We have a bottom 5 QB in the league yet he still finds a way to get this team to win games. |

Strength of schedule is trash. Also doesn't take good coaching when you can win games as long as you never have to throw the ball against trash competition. |

Throw away two seasons so they can draft a DE. That is without a doubt the worst idea I've ever seen. You should never be allowed to talk about football ever again. I'm really at a loss for words -- so stupid I don't know where to begin. |

Watch South Carolina's bowl game. Realize that AS A FRESHMAN Clowney made Melvin Ingram a first round draft pick this year. Keep insisting that Clowney is "just a DE." Go ahead. |

Curious, why weren't we a national concern when Mangini was the coach? Edwards? Parcells?
We are here now because our coach has followed up huge, bold predictions about winning superbowls, meeting presidents, and taking 2 eyes for an eye with a whole lot of ineptitude, mouthing off from his players, foot fetish scandals, coaches mouthing off, in house fighting, on the field fighting between our own guys, a 53 million dollar superstar benched, a 1st round QB struggling mightily, and to it all we have added the most polarizing player in any sport on the planet in the mix, threw a huge press conference upon his arrival, repeatedly stated there were going to be some big secretive plays for him to be involved in, and then basically bench him every day. Whether you care about the media or not, this is why they're doing it. Last edited by Snell41; 12-11-2012 at 12:48 PM. |

What is it going to take to get it through some of your thick heads, the Jets responded to an abundance of media requests to put Tebow in front of the camera, this isn't something the team did on their own.
