Not for winter storms though (non-coastal) - this appears to be a new thing this year. I wanted to check the 10 day forecast and I was informing that Draco is coming....or some crap.

I read somewhere that the National Weather Service stated that they do not name winter storms.
It sounds as if The Weather Channel made up these names for winter storms for their own purposes.
