I just don't understand why you guys all hate so much. You all say that we need to learn how to build our own talent through the draft instead of picking up free agents. Well look, that's exactly what we do.
ANYWAY, to your point: The Jets can't do heavy sledding against the Pats, so ...who f*cking cares?

I do enjoy our north south run game, though.

2009

Mark Sanchez - starting QB
Shonn Greene - starting RB
Matt Slauson - starting LG

2010

Kyle Wilson - starting CB
Vlad Ducasse - backup LG (okay, he does suck)
Joe McKnight - starting KR
John Conner - gone
Santonio Holmes - starting WR. Traded a 5th rounder this year for him

2011

Mo Wilkerson - starting DE
Antonio Cromartie - starting CB. Traded a 2nd rounder this year for him
Kenrick Ellis - backup DT
Bilal Powell - starting RB
Jeremy Kerley - starting WR
Greg McElroy - Won a game for us. If it wasn't for him we wouldn't be making a run for the playoffs
Scotty McKnight - gone

2012

Quinton Coples - starting/backup DE. Hard to tell really. He gets a lot of reps.
Stephen Hill - starting WR
Demario Davis - starting MLB
Josh Bush - backup S
Terrence Ganaway - gone
Robert Griffin - gone
Antonio Allen - backup S
Jordan White - backup WR

So... I just have to say: What the **** are you people thinking?

Look it over. They have drafted studs every year. Even including this most recent draft, we have people starting on our team from every single draft in the past 4 years. What else could you ask for?

Out of 23 draft picks, 19 of them are still on our team in contributing roles. 13 of them are starting or are getting lots of reps. 2009, 2011, and 2012 have all been stellar drafts that got us multiple good starters. Look at the 2011 draft and then tell me Tanny doesn't know what he's doing. Wilkerson, Cro, Ellis, Powell, Kerley.

Clearly, you are wrong. What do you have to say for yourselves?
DUMP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We drafted demario davis with an eye on the future as 3 of our LBs are free agents after this season.

We drafted bush and antonio allen as both our safeties are on 1 year contracts.

You cant fill every hole every year.
The Jets record speaks for the level of talent. Its more than just the RT. He has been serviceable, I wouldnt say that everything is just fine. We are most likely not making the playoffs again. (Yeah, we are alive, but on life support)

The offense is NOT talented. They score a average of 10 points per game.

This team overall is pure garbage.

Ryan and Tannenbaum drafting geniuses?

With the number of quality players leaving the Jets each year, we would need a college draft to produce for us at least 8 quality starters each year. Even a football genius like Bellichek can not do this. Forget quality free agents coming here. They don't want to play for this circus and we can't pay them the big bucks. So if our HC and GM can't produce these number of college picks, we are not getting in or thru the playoffs.

Thats just the sad part to me...players WILL play for just the money, and is the New York Jets Dollars less green than some other teams....?

There will be cap room next year, and it needs to be spent carefully, hopefully with Mike Tannenbaum figuring the #'s, and a better talent evaluator calling the shots at draft and FA time (Woody Johnson)

Tanny has made some good picks and has whiffed on some -- just like every other GM in the league. The jets just happen to be a team that whiffs while always swinging for the fences.

You'll cry when you hear this, but remember, Kyle Wilson was taken before Gronk and Jimmy Graham. Lots and lots of dudes were taken before Gronk (42nd overall) and Graham (95th). At the time, Wilson looked like a better pro than Gronk and Graham ... and judging by their overall selection #, the Jets weren't the only teams warm on the TEs. Of course they are great now because of their obnoxiously good QBs.

That is because the NFL draft is a complete crap shoot. Totally different game than college. Saying a team or GM drafts well is BS ... a ton of luck is involved.

Definitely sub-par.
How are you basing this? On just this season or 2.75 yr career?

Jay Cutler was traded for 2 first round picks
Carson Palmer traded for 2 first round picks

What will sanchez get in the open market? Are you trying to sell me Mark ****ing Sanchez is a good top 5 overall pick? That was a horrendous pick that will haunt this franchise for the next decade. Why for so long? Because the Jets will give Mark another chance to start next year and he will get to a point where he is a below mediocre QB instead of just a horrific QB. Rex will always have a good defense that with just a bland QB will get enough wins to be 8-8 or 9-7 and maybe sneak into the playoffs. A record not bad enough to dump the handpicked "franchise QB" So instead of having something special with a great defense we will be cursed to always fight for a wildcard with out ****y QB who we are stuck with for a LOOOOOOOOOOOOONG *** time. Thanks Mike Tannenbaum I really appreaciate that pick great job ***wipe.

47 games is a decent sample size.

Most of those guys are starters because our depth sucks... which goes back to that whole "Tanny & Rex suck at drafting" thing...

Yep. But people here still judge him because of his rookie yr. but overall he's played well this season.

It's all the finger-wagging when a receiver beats him but the QB misses him/he drops the ball. Like, how are you gonna take credit for **** you had no part in?
