Bill Polian turned the Jets down.....

Before the New York Jets hired a search firm to look for a new general manager, the team spoke to former Indianapolis Colts executive Bill Polian, Mike Garafolo and Jim Corbett of USA Today report. This according to a person briefed on the talks between Polian and the organization.

The person, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said Polian expressed to the team he wasn't interested in taking the job.

Polian, currently an analyst for ESPN, would neither confirm nor deny he spoke to the Jets about the job when contacted Sunday evening.

At least one good thing happened for the jets. I don't want this guy anywhere near the jets.

Didn't want Polian in the first place. One of the most overrated GM's imo.

Not surprised. He doesn't take criticism very well and is generally not very good with reporters.

I really doubt this guy wants back in the nfl. He looks like he is 100 years old.

I'm more concerned about the fact that we demonstrated interest in him than the fact that he didn't want the job.

I'm glad he's not the guy but I hope his reason wasn't due to the prerequisite of retaining Ryan as coach. Because that might be a foretelling of things to come with others.

This was BEFORE Woody hired the recruiting firm.

The firm so fare have recommended Gamble and Ross. I think these two guys were the top 2 guys that this board had mentioned.

Who gives a rats a$$ about Polian. If we are able to get one of these two guys we are off to a great start.

I don't think forcing one year of Rex on a GM is a deal breaker. Most GMs outlast the coaches. The new GM is a long term hire, if the are so concerned about one year of Rex, add a year to their contract.

She told a joke on Louie CK and said she had virgina droop and it was turning gray. She added but it has the benefit of watching TV in the living room while having sex in the bedroom. LOL
