Landry Jones...
Oklahoma Qb, Senior...
Holding his own against Johnny Football in the Cotton Bowl right now... Big, looks very good so far... Is this guy a viable pick on draft day? I'd trade Sanchez and Tebow for this kid right now... |

Are you watching the same game i am? Although he is big and looks comfortable in the pocket, less than average arm strength and a nasty hitch in his deep throws at best makes him a game manager and probably not even that.
Although he does get subbed out by a quarterback that strictly runs the ball, so maybe hes exactly what the jets are looking for.

No way on Landry.
Manziel, on the other hand, will be a monster IMO. |

Not a fan of Jones
Either bite the bullett and take Glennon or Wilson in Round 1 or draft someone like Nassib or Dysert in the 2nd/3rd. This team has to draft a QB within the first 3 rounds barring a trade for someone like Smith, Flynn or Cousins. |

He seems to be very accurate, all his passes are on target, not a huge arm though. I'd take him in 2nd and def 3rd round. Seems like an Andy dalton type to me. He's an upgrade over what he have now IMO

Jets have to draft at least one QB within first 3 rounds but Landry is definitely the one they should stay away from. For all his years of experience he continually makes poor reads and bad decisions. Besides his size, nothing about him stands out, he doesn't really excel in any particular aspect of the position.

Landry Jones...
On further review, I think I'd rather have Landry Fields...

Can't knock Jones for being a fifth year player while pumping Manzeil as a 20 year old freshmen.

Not sure about the Namath compariison, but Manzel is having his way with Oklahoma in the Cotton Bowl. He's cool, confident, quick and while he doesn't have a cannon for an arm, he can make every throw. Watching him on the sidelines, he's laughing, and pretty much knows he will win by his body language. He can play for my team any day

Jones's absolute ceiling is Carson Palmer (Raiders version). Maybe not even. He's too mistake prone.
Manziel is a special player. Kid is unstoppable. It'll be interesting to see how his game translates to the pros. The Sooners D is terrible, that is a factor tonight too Last edited by SlickBri481; 01-04-2013 at 10:58 PM. |

If we draft Glennon in Round 1, the franchise will be destroyed. He is awful. Dude can't even complete 60% of his throws at college level, which is hard to do. He was the 66th rated passer in the country this season and led in INTs. He will be as bad as Gabbert and Locker (whom Kiper also once loved)

I think the success of Russell Wilson, a small QB, might help Johnny Manziel's transition to the NFL.
I actually think Wilson is shorter than Manzeil. He's a fantastic player. |

Wilson was a really polished passer in college, ran occasionally, did not rely on it. Preferred to throw. Just like he has been in Seattle |
