Bills will also interview Jags DC Mel Tucker for same position, per jason la canfora.

While ranked top 10 in 2011, this season the Jags D was ranked 30th. Gave up nearly 28 ppg and had only 20 sacks. Yes, Bills, hire him please.

Hmm...if Pettine becomes Bills DC...wonder where Pace, Scott, Thomas, and Smitty may end up playing next year?

Contracts run to the start of the league year, normally the first week in March.
It coincides with the start of FA. His contract runs until then so the Bills need to ask permission to get him on board before march.

The same defense that crapped the bed every time it mattered unless they came up against a bigger loser than them (Hello Romo).

Good riddance. Should have been thrown out on his ass 3 years ago.

He needs a few more months to erase all of his Deep throat files.

And after their latest snide comments about the Jets I'd tell them to take a hike.

Bring in Lovie to run the Defense and Norv to run the offense!

Not a big loss, but it is funny to see how some fans turn on people as soon as, or in this case before they get the title ex-Jet.

I look at this move as very similar to the move by BB to get out from under Parcells shadow. After all when most people credit the Jets about defense, it's always Rex that they talk about. So you can expect that he wants to move up the coaching ladder and can't do that until he stand on his own. No hard feelings from this fan , unless he really is the rat bastard that was taking to the press.

But when you do this, it looks bad for coaches that you want to be here. You can't be seen as vindictive, coaches move on all the time. Pettine turned down an extension during the year, the jets knew he wanted to move on.
