This.
Telasco hasn't even accepted the interview request yet, he's waiting to hear what happens in SD first. The longer this goes on, the more i think the Jets GM position isn't as desirable as everyone thinks. |

I posted this in the tweets thread but since he has his own thread now:
TELESCO PROMOTED Posted Feb 8, 2012 By Colts.com Tom Telesco has been promoted to vice president of football operations. A 14-year veteran in the personnel department, Telesco was promoted by General Manager Ryan Grigson. INDIANAPOLIS – The Indianapolis Colts have promoted Tom Telesco to Vice President of Football Operations. Telesco has spent 14 seasons with the organization (1998-2011), the last six as the team’s Director of Player Personnel. “I’ve known Tom for a long time and we have a mutual respect for each other,” said General Manager Ryan Grigson. “He has been a valuable member of the Colts organization over the last 14 years and this promotion is well deserved. He has a bright football mind, conveys his points well and is highly respected in and around league circles. I’m looking forward to working with him this season as we make strides towards our ultimate goal.” Telesco joined the Colts as an Area Scout from 1998-2000. He served as a Pro Scout from 2001-03 before being elevated to the team’s Director of Pro Scouting (2004-05). At the conclusion of the 2005 campaign, Telesco moved into the Director of Player Personnel role. In 1995, Telesco began his NFL career as a Scouting Assistant for the Carolina Panthers. He served in that role for two seasons before becoming an Area Scout in 1997. Telesco also worked as a summer intern for the Buffalo Bills (1991-94). Telesco played wide receiver for John Carroll University and was a starter on the Blue Streak Ohio Athletic Conference title team in 1994. He graduated the following year with a business management degree. http://www.colts.com/news/article-1/...d-817215e95e22 |

@RUSSLANDE: @AdamSchefter - While J. Raye would be a VG choice as GM, everything I know about T. Telesco points towards him being an Excellent GM.

Which is why we won't get him. Once again, Woody is late to the party. He should have been interviewed in the 1st round of interviews. Unreal!

Some people need to relax. None of these guys are sure things. We have NO idea on how ANY of them will react to certain things. There are a billion decisions that a GM makes and it's a lot tougher to make those decisions when you are the lightning rod. All of these candidates have no experience and have had the nice situation where they can just make recommendations. Who knows how many dumbass recommendations these guys have made. Just pick whoever you think is the brightest guy of the bunch, and hope he puts it together. Most of being a GM is luck. I think Buddy Nix would be one of the best GM's in the league but he's unlucky in that he has a ****ty QB. Pioli got a job for the same reason they think Belichick is a good coach. Brady...
