Everyone in that situation did something wrong. Pastor was an a-hole for complaining about giving a tip. The article was unclear on whether she paid the original 18%. Seemed to me based on the photo that the 18% was paid but she put a 0 in the additional tip area. Regardless, has she never been to a restaurant before? They all charge the tip on large parties. The server shouldn't have posted anything online either. That will get you fired every time.

I think the receipt shows that the auto tip was crossed out and the total amount just equals the initial charge pre auto-tip.

What a jerk..and to justify it with the ridiculous god comment is what really gets me.

This woman is probably as much a pastor as the two looney tunes I see "preaching" about Jesus in the Port Authority on the way to the E train everyday.

15-18% for the worst service, which is pretty rare.

Minimum 20-25% for most occasions. More for exceptional service.

There were 8 people sitting at that table. Granted they only spent $34 bucks, but I'm sure based on the attitude and behavior of "pastor" Alois Bill they were all royal pains in the asses.

Also it's Applebee's policy to tack on an 18% tip for a table of 8 or more. Keeps the scumbags out.
