Can Jeff Cumberland be #1 TE for Jets if DK doesnt return?
He looked descent catching and running with the ball. I would like to have Keller back with Jets if possible.

Thought about that aswell. He is a solid TE but not a starter imo. Good, decent number two though.

I'm counting on Hayden Smith! How fast did he come along? And the proud winner of this years Hampton Award.

I love these posts. Draft a complete QB, draft a complete RB, draft a complete TE, draft a complete Guard, draft a complete LB. Do we have 5 extra first round picks that I don't know about.
Cumberland and keller are both limited, and I doubt Keller will get much interest frmo other teams in Free Agency. Would be happy with either of them back at a reasonable price tag. |

My recollections are good hands ... Think decent yac ... Haven't researched if that is true though ... Some questions on run blocking and max protect of qb ... And some concerns for can he remain healthy ... If DK is gone I'd like a reasonable htf guy with some positive run blocking pass protecting history

Cumberland is probably one of the two fastest TEs in the league (Vernon Davis being the other). He's also very fluid and rangy. He'd probably be a dangerous weapon if he had a competent QB.
His problems are brain farts and blocking. The first problem will probably be eliminated with more playing time. |

Id rather go with "draft a complete TE". You know, with the third of our second round picks. |

I thought Cumberland played well. Hes not going to be a legitimate playmaking TE, but he could strive for a Fasano type position with the team.
I hate to bring it up again, as i know it is off topic, and im honestly not trying to force an agenda, but with Mark Sanchez throwing anybody the ball on offense, a legitimate judgement can not be made. Mark is unfortunately that bad. I honestly think Kerley on a team with a good QB would be utilized so much more, but here we are. Go Jets. |

Cumberland being a RFA would need to be tagged by the Jets. 1.33 mill is the min but if he walks there is no comp. (UDFA) If the jets want to protect him with a 2nd rd tender the price is closer to 2.1mill. The jets may not tag him and just try to resign him for a vet min deal instead.

What the hell is with this obsession with Cumberland? It's been going on for 3 years now and the guy hasn't done dick. He might not even be on the roster next season. |

Jeff Cumberland is the New Bryan Thomas. He's not what the masses want,so therefore he's no good.
I see a freeagent TE who catches the ball well ,runs as well as most WRs and doesn't cost the Jets much. |
