Are Jets trying to hire 2 people?
Wondering whether the delay is not simply to get Idzik into place but also to hire a VP of player of personnel, sort of like the job Lombardi got this morning from the Browns. Perhaps Idzik + Gaine, Idzik + Popp, Idzik + Cohen, Idzik + Bradway etc. Or someone Idzik has identified to join him.
Would make a lot of sense in some ways. The only comments that Woody has made from the press conference was that Korn/Ferry was helping with the restructuring of their front office. That started with Glat. Would be excited if they could pull of a "2 for 1". Would definitely excite a fanbase that is already worried about the thin resume that Idzik has on the personnel side. |

This makes perfect sense if they let Bradway go.

I don't think there is a question of "if" they let Bradway go! More like how soon.....

One theory could be that Idzik is a placeholder GM - someone who would/could slide into the 'cap-guy' role if/when things go to pot under Ryan this season.
At that point, there would be a house-cleaning, Idzik remains and a 'real' GM is brought in. I would find that very weird, especially going through this whole complex process, but if the owner is trying to take a long-term view to building the organization this could certainly be one of the scenarios he is contemplating. |

You guys realize bradway isn't a problem right? Guy wanted to draft Russell Wilson, kaepernick before that. Someone has been overruling him.
I don't think he should be head scout like he is now, but he isn't awful. |

I wouldn't count on it.....
At least not in the way you are expecting. Any GM is going to look to fill out a staff with a couple of his guys, thats only natural. But it's more likely to be a scout from another organization that you've never heard of before and not a high level guy making essentially a lateral move. What does Gaine have to gain by coming here in a lateral move? Cohen and Bradway will probably still be involved here in some fashion. |

I think that it is a strong possibility that it would be two people. They went to visit Gaine down in Miami. Also Gamble has not interviewed with anyone else after the Jets which strikes me as odd considering that he was a hot candidate.
I can see an Idzik/Gamble or Idzik/Gaine combo possibly? |

I'm not sure that a GM would want to come into that position with another guy who interviewed for the same job. It doesn't seem like a very secure position in the already insecure world of the Jets. It would be a blockbuster sort of move if pulled off, but I think a GM would want to pick his own staff.

No way! Clev has no GM that's why they went with Lombardi.

It could be a "two person" hire but it would be something like Idzik and
someone from SEA front office as his Asst. GM / Director of Scouting |

It will be Idzik plus maybe a Seattle scout, or Khan plus maybe a Pitt scout. But no dream teams of top GM candidates. |

Bradway was a bad GM. He's an excellent scouting/personnel guy IMO. I was very happy when his demotion from GM didn't make him bolt from the organization.
In a way, he's like Rex. At the elevated position of head coach Rex is still trying to find his way a little and become successful, but most agree that he's probably best suited as a Defensive Coordinator. I like Bradway and hope he sticks through this. |
