Your Favorite Bands Whose First Album Was Released AFTER the Year 2000

So, consciously eliminating all the old classics so many of us fall all over (myself included), who are your favorite bands/artists whose career started in THIS century (the last 10-13 years) and onwards?

My own initial list:

1. Black Mountain/Pink Mountaintops/Etc. (first album, 2005)
2. Iron & Wine (first album, 2002)
3. Silversun Pickups (first album, 2005)
4. The Mars Volta (first album, 2003)
5. Flogging Molly (first album, 2000)
6. The Shins (first album, 2001)
7. Elliott Brood (first album, 2004)
8. Airbag (first album, 2009)

And perhaps #9, Wolf People, first album, 2010. A mix of Cream, Sabbath, Tull and more.

I'm going to go with The White Stripes/Jack White solo and Muse. In that order.

Muse dropped their first album in 1999, otherwsie they would have been #3 on my list as well.

By the way Boro, you know I'd not lead you astray....check out Wolf People if you havn't already. I don't think you'll be dissapointed.

I've been listening to Kyng quite a bit. I heard about them on Sirius XM. They're not bad.

Of course I like it, but coincidentally I want to hurl myself in front of a street sweeper whenever I hear it.

I'm very close to agreeing with you about this band. They are all very talented players and vocalists. I'm just hoping they don't go over to the side of being
annoying and derivative of themselves.
