Exclamation Seriously China, What The Effing ****?

Rat Meat Sold As "Lamb" In Multi-Million-Dollar Chinese Scam

Quote:
The latest terrible fake food scandal from China resulted in more than 900 arrests after criminal meat processors sold the chemical-soaked flesh of rats and foxes as "lamb meat." As more Chinese demand a daily supply of dead farm animals as food, crafty criminals are butchering and processing anything that moves.

Mink, fox, rat and chicken claws have been discovered in food packaged as cow meat or mutton. Health officials have just completed a nationwide three-month crackdown on "meat related offenses," according to Xinhua.

Some of the meat crimes are hardly different from general U.S. slaughterhouse and meat-processing practices, such as injecting poultry with water to increase the weight and price, or soaking the flesh of diseased animals with chemicals.

China's growing wealth and demand for food made from animals has created a massive market for cheaply produced meat and dairy often created from industrial supplies, slaughterhouse waste and vermin.

Police admit China has "deep-seated food safety problems."

You know when folks go to Italian salumerias and order "gabba goal" instead of the proper, "coppa"? That's what the guy behind the counter sells them.

Ha ha..my wife was over there on business when they found the thousands of pigs floating down the river a while ago. SHe freaked.

She has to go back next month, so this is just peachy.

I keep saying "oh, they keep the rat meat for the locals, you just might get some FOx breast. Possibly."

I'm not the least bit Italian and to me, there is nothing more infuriating than hearing vowels dropped from Italian words. Makes me want to punch babies.

China could really use pestilence right about now. Something that wipes out 70-80% of the population.

My friend of Chinese parents; graduated from Yale, married a TV Star in Shanghai...kind of an Oprah celeb; up in you bidness...he's always coming back to SF from Shanghai...I'll keep it tolerable and just say "he eats a lot of vegetables".

I have no desire to go to China

What, no POSSUM?!

I dry it up and package and sell it as Venison Jerky to gas stations.

It's a HUGE hit!
